Just because I am bored and VERY nosey (lol)

What's everyone doing on Christmas Day?

We are having the mother in law and my brother round for lunch.

I will be staying with my mum
Hi all
I will b doing dinner as usual, first Christmas not having my sis, she going to her sons, but still 6 4 lunch, pate starter, then turkey & ham with all the trimmings then profiter rolls 4 some!! Followed my the biggest cheese board!,washed down with lots of champagne!! x

My Daughter and Son In Law are coming over for dinner, she has ME and has struggled the past years catering for others so this year she gets to rest while I cook. My son asked me to their house but I had already invited my daughter so I will miss out on the little ones but will see them Boxing day when we all go to his for dinner. I'm not really fussed about it all & would be quite happy doing my own thing but families.....

"Miss! Miss! She said the C-------- word"! :D :D

Smoked salmon, quails' eggs and Buck's Fizz for breakfast

Presents and Champagne

Fairly trad. lunch but our "kids" (18 & 21) won't eat sprouts or Christmas Pudding so they usually have peas and Viennetta instead. I have a small bit of Christmas pud but brandy butter's a no-no nowadays. I don't have Champagne because I've usually moved on to an agreeable Saint Emilion by then, but Mrs hay-char sticks manfully to it. The turkey has to have "had a nice life" because the family demands it but given the cost, I am thinking of getting a Lidl economy job and nicking a Copas Norfolk Bronze box from our local posh butcher's waste bin to put it in, mwahahaha. Small glass of Sauternes with the pud. Maybe some Champagne afterwards

Cup of tea in front of the telly, late afternoon. Anybody who can manage a bit of Christmas cake at this point is a better man/woman than me, Gunga Din, but it has been known. Maybe a drop of Champagne.

Mid/late evening: some cheese, nuts, cold turkey and other nibbles. This needs something to wash it down. Champagne, maybe?

Nightcap: Horlicks or tea. Or Champagne; did I mention that? :D

I shall be mooching around the cave all alone Mrs Cumberland is working a late shift start at 1 so it will be beans on toast lol might stretch it too toad in the hole
Boxing Day is even worse she working a double shift then I am back to work the day after

We will sort out something Christmas Day before 1

Just pray you don't open a 'mother in law' joke in your Christmas cracker

I think I might indulge in a few glasses of Port although I guzzle it like billy oh and might end up getting sozzled

@Cumberland I am usually the 1 coming out with the mother in law jokes anyway.

We have a love/hate relationship, we LOVE to HATE each other.

I honestly wouldnt mind if she choked on a turkey bone, as long as she didnt make a mess of my table hahaha

Hmm guess you like Champagne then;) and what turkey has a nice life knowing he's likely to end up on someone's meat plate accompanied by his friends Peppa Pig & Donald Duck or The Cow who jumped over the moon or even Doc McStuffins Lammie:hungry: my family don't like turkey so it's beef & gammon for us. My Son & his wife love Champagne & we will no doubt be offered it on Boxing Day. Whatever is eaten or drunk it's family time that matters and imagine you & Mrs Hay-char are looking forward to your kids being back home

Hmm hope my DIL doesn't look on me like that, we have both worked really hard to build our relationship. Even though we have our moments it's soon forgotten,

Yes, we are looking forward to seeing the kids :)

The turkey argument gets re-enacted every year. Everyone else wants a turkey that's had a nice life, I always point out that its life became not so nice when s/he got hoicked up onto the conveyor belt and carried towards the rotating knives.... however, by this time everyone's had a few glasses of Champagne (;)) and they've ceased to care :)

Thought it finished weeks ago! And why are you not in Santa's Grotto packing Elves:hilarious::hilarious:
Santa knows what you are talking about, CHRISTMAS .. ;)
There is a tv special on Christmas Day ..:bag::banghead:
All the elves have gone to sleep early today .. They had an early start ..... Hot water bottles and hot chocolate for them ..
I may take my festive Kat suit off and rest myself .. A lot of snow to clear tomorrow , to make a good run way for the sleigh to take off , well I have to make it look like I am working o_O:D:p
Festive wishes to you all .. In two Sunday's time it will be December .. :banghead::bigtears::arghh:

My MIL hates me because I took her precious son away from her. Hahahaha!!! We will never get on.

I should add here, I am 29, hubby is 53 & MIL is 83, she is like a child though.

As long as I can get a drink in me and (hopefully) ignore her, it will be a good day

My cousin tried an arguement about our turkey before, soon shut her up when we offered to get a live one so she could make sure it died peacefully hahaha
