What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Neil has found some information about a drug called ATR-258. It is supposed to promote the efficacy of insulin and so, glucose control. Has anyone heard anything about this new drug? What I have found seems to indicate that it has been shown to be effective in humans but I can't see anything...

Glad to hear you are enjoying the good , if dangerous, weather. Here, I have just decided to go back into big winter jumpers (a thick cable knit, polo neck today).

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.8 at 03.45 today. Suffering after my outing yesterday to a friend's funeral. It was a lovely funeral but a huge effort which will take me a day or so to recover from. No more funerals for me, I think - just that one final one, of course, but I won't be putting any great effort into that...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Still suffering from yesterday's exertions. So far only a cup of coffee, some painkillers, a glass of water and a cup of tea. but I will have to do something about breakfast soon. It will be a couple of RyVitas with tartex, tomato and cucumber slices. 2nd meal will be steak with broccoli...

The funeral service was lovely and a fitting send off for a woman who was something of a force of nature. That was acknowledged in the very loving eulogy delivered by her son. When I saw the cemetery I opted to remain in the car - like most island cemeteries, it had no paths, just grass which...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.9 at 03.30 today. Although we didn't see any lightening or hear any thunder, we lost power for a few hours last night. I was just at the beginning of a Zoom meeting when our island and Skye lost power completely. My battery back-up kept it going for a short time, but, while others, on the...

Avocado on RyVita for breakfast. Tea. 2nd meal: Still some of the cabbage left and some of the ham hock meat. So that's what it will be. I'm assuming I will have something but I am attending a funeral at lunchtime today after which there are to be "refreshments" - probably something I can...

Neil couldn't get bacon but came home with a ham hock so I will still have the bacony meat but also some good stock for some soup. It's boiling away just now and smells great already. Well done Neil.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.7 at 05.00 today. Looks as though I had a good long sleep last night but, actually, I got involved with my writing project that I have been trying to finish off for weeks now. It's a complicated story and I keep finding that I've mixed the sequence up so I've had to sort iŧ all out. Then...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Not feeling very inspired this morning so I just had some RyVita with cheese for breakfast plus a cup of coffee. Almost ready to go out for my appointment. I did get myself all organised and dressed when I remembered that I am to have an ECG and the dress I had put on would have made that...

Great to hear your news. It's a problem with meds - you gain in terms of what they are treating but may well lose on something else. Swings and roundabouts. But so glad you can relax about that now. Blood test and ECG for me tomorrow to see what effect reducing my BP meds have had as well as...

Weather report says here it is 16C with a light SW breeze, broken cloud cover. Actually, it is a 4 layer day - even Neil thinks so - with a 20+mph wind. Of course, the report is for Stornoway - 7 miles away. Maybe it is much balmier there. Forecast for tomorrow is cooler and wetter.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

9.8 at 02.30 today. That's because yesterday BG went too low before my evening meal so I didn't take insulin. Of course, then BG went too high in the evening and didn't come down far "overnight" (what passes for overnight for me, ie 2 hours). Can't really expect it to go down all that far in...

9.8 at 02.30 today. Sorry - wrong thread. It was meant for "What was your fasting blood glucose" so I'll transfer it there. Breakfast: to be consumed shortly: mushroom omelette. 2nd meal: the rest of the sausages and cabbage from last night.

Breakfast: a slice of cold, set lasagne. I quite enjoy lasagne that way one the 2nd day. It sets fairly firm so is easy to cut a slice off. Coffee. 2nd meal: pork sausages and cabbage. I have too many projects under way at the moment and can't find time to do everything I want. Where does...
