    Saying that ‘butter is fine for lacto intolerance’ is WRONG! The smallest amount plays havoc for me. But thank you for the other suggestions, especially the warning about oat milk being high in carbs.

    Your explanation "...starts a chain of metabolic events" is really helpful - I always need to understand 'why' - although I still don't quite understand why it's from the beginning of a meal, when those metabolic events are surely continuing throughout a meal?

    I don't understand how this can be helpful unless there is any feedback - for example the lady who said she'd have 5 rashers of bacon & 2 fried eggs - surely there's too much salt in so much bacon & it seems unbalanced

    I think the "naughty with milk and biscuits" might be something to work on! Biscuits were certainly a quick fix to my hunger pangs a while back, but once I got rid of them all, I found I didn't hanker after them so much. I'm still pre-diabetic, so need to work harder, but I so want to avoid...

    My advice is to always ask for the advice of a pharmacist before taking 'over the counter' medications. They have a wealth of knowledge. I hope you soon feel better

    8 week blood sugar diet

    Well done for losing 1kg this week - that's 2lbs, = a bag of sugar! slowly, steadily seems much more sensible than losing a lot quickly. I'm pre-diabetic too & still struggling with judging how much fat is good, after years of believing that fat=bad!
