    Thanks for all your responses, I do recall my doctor was not in a hurry to put me on insulin when the results of antibodies came back (although this was a while ago), maybe because my ketones/sugars were still low? I did hear the nurse talk about a honeymoon period but she didn't really explain...

    I was told to have some carbs in my meals with my doses since my sugars were low already when starting insulin so started having some carbs again, my sugars were still pretty good even when I reintroduced them again, I'm eating the exact same foods up until tea time but still get the odd spike...
