LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

I was T2 for 3 years before things started going **** up. 3 further years of trying every single med, low carb, nothing working then a Covid infection sent my blood sugars above 20 where they stayed and would not drop whatever I did. Saw the GP, started on insulin, tests showed LADA. A few...

    Type 1 and going out

I generally don't take insulin with me if I'm not planning to eat out, but if I am I take insulin in a pouch thing which also holds my needles, a bag of sweets which live in my bag and my phone. My meter I leave in my car. I have a cross body bag which is really my handbag but is big enough to...

    Mounjaro and Metformin question!

I don't take Mounjaro or any of the meds like that, but would guess that pancreatitis could be a side effect in some people and therefore you would be more at risk of having it again as you've had it before?

    HbA1c Abnormal Test Results

I wouldn't worry at all, that's just the triage note, we have that at work when we triage blood results too, we choose between normal, abnormal but exoected and abnormal too. Normal parameters for blood sugar are below 42 so anything 41 or less would say normal. And tbh it almost always probably...

    struggling

My eyes were weird when i was first diagnosed. One of my first signs was distance vision going very blurry. Optician sent me to GP, had high blood sugars though not as high as yours ans was started on metfirmin and gliclazide just 40mg Once a day which did the trick. My distance vision resolved...

    Does insulin contain sugar?

Could it be coincidental as you take your basal on the morning? That a morning rise, not associated with carb intake, takes place and you inject mornings as well. I do my basal evenings now, and I get a similar rise to you in the mornings where it will rise, and then fall again?

Type 1/LADA currently not using insulin

I'm also LADA but before I was rediagnosed from T2, I did try keto. It wasn't that helpful for me and I think because I wasn't making any/much basal insulin so I could never get my blood glucose low enough with diet alone. I think you're going to need at least a basal insulin at some point

    Blood glucose monitors

As you're unwell, would it not be better for you to concentrate on getting your gastro investigations and low B12 levels sorted, and see your GP about feeling unwell as could all be connected. Then when you're well, concentrate on managing your diet? Your blood glucose levels are fine but you...

    Gliclazide and Driving

No idea if DVLA require testing on Gliclazide, when I was on that I didn't let them know, now I'm just on insulin I did have to inform them and they specify a meter that has a memory of a certain number of tests and even though I have Libre now I still have to have my meter on me when I drive. I...

    Newly diagnosed T2 trouble walking.

If it's only one leg and eases off when he's resting it's likely it's coming from his back rather than neuropathy. I don't have neuropathy but I'm guessing that would affect both legs equally starting with the toes and working towards. But if he's having sciatica symptoms he really needs to get...

Libre 2 constantly opening up with a scan error message

No bank cards nearby but have had my phone sitting on my library book, you may have something there! Didn't even occur to me that that could affect my phone! Thank you! I'm going to put it in my book now to see if it happens then I will know what to avoid!

Libre 2 constantly opening up with a scan error message

Anyone else have this? A few times a day my Libre app springs to life with a scan error message. I close it and it comes back again for lots of times in a row, I don't seem able to shut it down. Eventually it stops and it doesn't make any difference if I scan, it says scan complete then keeps...
