    Counterweight TFR

Hi Diakat :) Yes, I'm testing my sugars about 4 times a day, and it's ranging between 6 to 11. Loads better than it was, it was between 12 to 18 so it's definitely improving. I expect it to get better the more weight comes off too. They've not said a great deal about the reintroduction of food...

Hi Hibby, I'm on day 21 of Counterweight, in Grampian. Wondered how you are finding it?

    Counterweight TFR

Oh I meant to say - I was taking 2 x MR Metformin, twice a day, and empagliflozin. When I started Counterweight, they told me to stop the empa, and just carry on with metformin :)

    Counterweight TFR

Hi, can I chat here? :) Type 2, pills and diet controlled. Though not always well controlled.... I was referred to the Counterweight Plus program by my diabetic support team. I've been seeing an obstetrician for around 18 months now to get myself in the right place for hopefully starting a...

    Changing to Insulin during pregnancy

Hi! I'm type 2, currently taking metformin and glimipiride. I had a pre-pregnancy chat with an obstetrician and she wants me to get my hba1c down from 79 (was 96) to 55. For the past 3 weeks I've got my fasting reading down from on average 18, down to a steady 8. Still a way to go but I'm...

I am going to run out of pills

Thank you for the reply, I have been informed to continue with the 2 + 2 tablets and keep an eye on the weather for when I can get to my surgery.. Now that the "sun" (as much sun as we get here!!) is up, the local news seems to be suggesting some of the roads are clearing, so fingers crossed...

I am going to run out of pills

Hello, You may have seen Aberdeenshire on the news, basically we're all flooded and knee deep in snow in places, and everyone's stuck. I was due to pick up my Metformin prescription today, as I am to run out on Sunday. I now can't get to the doctors to get the tablets. Weather permitting, it...

What rise is acceptable 2 hours after eating?

Further to BeanGate yesterday, where I had a rise of +6.8 after my breakfast.... Morning BG - 10.5 Breakfast - cuppa tea, beans, ham. +2 hrs BG - 11.8 (much happier with this!) That's much better, it must be the allegedly low-carb-toast and beans combination rather than just the beans!

Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

j Thank you both! :D I had some soda bread the day before, and it hadn't really affected my levels, so I'd jumped to the conclusion the beans were the culprit... Today, I have had just beans and ham, and my +2hr reading was +1.3 rather than +6, so it probably was the combination of the bread...

What rise is acceptable 2 hours after eating?

Thanks @Mike D I will try again with no bread, see how that fares. My reading when I got up was 10.1 and I agree, I felt that +6 was a bit much. I will certainly get there. I've been "en route" to diabetes for a long time, and buried my head in the sand. But it's real now, I need to stop...

Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

Hello! I am still a beginner, learning what is good for me and what is bad. Morning BG - 10.1 Breakfast - cuppa tea, beans, soda-toast. +2 hrs BG - 16.8. Sad that I might have to say goodbye to my beans! Snack - Blueberries & strawberries with a dollop of Alpro yogurt Lunch - Salad - ham...

What rise is acceptable 2 hours after eating?

Beans and a poached egg, with a slice of home made low carb bread. I think I am ok with the bread, as that hasn't had much of an impact on my readings, but I'd read mixed reactions to beans. Looks like I'm probably in the "no" camp, which is a shame.. Its odd, you feel like you're doing good...

What rise is acceptable 2 hours after eating?

Hello! I am new to bg monitoring, and am starting to test various foods to see what is good and what is bad for me personally. Before my breakfast, I was 10.1. Yummy breakfast, and then waited 2 hours and I was 16.8. That's not good, is it.

    New to BG testing..

Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with T2 diabetes and have decided to test my blood sugar levels to find out what foods are causing me issues. For the past 2 months, I have eaten what I thought was a healthy balanced diet, and lost a bit of weight, but I got my monitor a week ago and my...
