I only started basal insulin a week ago after maxing out the dose of Metformin with no effect on BG and am gradually increasing the dose 2 units every 3 days. I will see my GP early next week to discuss the next step.

Thanks for the support. It really helps psychologically. For me, getting my head around a complete lifestyle change and changing habits of a lifetime has been the hardest. Unfortunately it seems that those without diabetes can only understand, to a point, what you are going through.
