    hate my pump

I agree with the comments that as the weather is changing, more things done outside etc basal and bolus amounts change a lot. As said before I use a few different profiles and what I found was through the winter I stayed pretty much on my 'not doing very much profile' which delivered a lot more...

    Accuchek pump-basal delivery

I have my Basal rate set at .25 of a unit for a block of 4 hours each day with no issues and at .40 of a unit for another few hours each day. It has been working without issue like this for the past 12 months.

    ******FLEXLINK PLUS RE-CALL******

Re: Flexlinkplus re-call Well the joy of a forum is a person can question what they like and the way you worded your post was such that you implied people had to learn something new as a result of this recall - that is not the case. We all choose to treat our condition in a manner that works...

    ******FLEXLINK PLUS RE-CALL******

Re: Flexlinkplus re-call Why - use Flex Links which are not the same product and have the same priming approach. Flex Links have not been recalled, it is Flex Link Plus only so there is no need to change to Rapid D Sets unless you have a specific desire to do so.

    ******FLEXLINK PLUS RE-CALL******

Re: Flexlinkplus re-call Spoke to Accu-Check, there is a recall being generally announced on Monday. A small number of users have encountered kinks which has caused issues. Apparently a letter will be sent to all people who have ordered them in the past on Monday, should arrive with people...

    Changing basals etc-how often

There are so many factors that influence your blood sugars that I personally see management of my Basal and Bolus amounts as a living / evolving matter. Weather temperature, stress, exercise, viruses (be it a small cold or full on flu) all impact your blood sugars to differing degree’s – then...

    Cannulas

I have used flexilink for over 14 months and flexilink plus for over a month now, so far I have had no failures or occlusions. My blood sugars are where I expect them to be. I live an active life and put my pump and cannulas through a bit of a beating so personally have not come across a design...

    Flexilink plus-accuchek

Not the UK site but shows you what it is: http://www1.accu-chek.be/microsites/fle ... index.html. I switch to the plus version next week from the non-plus version. Only benefit I see is no need to worry about where to put the needle anymore.

    Flexilink plus-accuchek

It is a new cannula that when inserted does not leave a needle to dispose of - the needle is contained in a sealed unit (I move to FlexLink plus from FlexLink next week). Accu-Chek have some info' re FlexLink plus on their website.

    Flexilink plus-accuchek

I insert my sets around my waist - from the little bit of fat around on my back right the way round to my tummy. In reality I have around 12 or 14 sites in this area I use so no one site gets used more than once in a month. I do find that the site's do vary a small amount in terms of insulin...

    Flexilink plus-accuchek

I've been using my pump for 13 months. The tubing lasts six days without question and at a push eight days - the latter being needed on one very specific occasion. The cannula will work very happily for three days (as recommended by Accu-chek) and five days at a push (again on one very specific...

    Flexilink plus-accuchek

Donnellysdogs, I've been using the same sets as you for the past 13 months without any of the issues you mention, in fact they will work for a good 8 days if needed (do not ask!).

    Air Travel to the USA

The problem with the basal rates when you have different amounts delivered each hour is your body takes a few days to change time zone although your mind and physical location changes immediately. That is where it gets fun - say the dawn phenomena happening at 11am instead of 6am for a few days...

    Air Travel to the USA

I travel a lot to the USA and other countries with my pump. Regarding going through the airport, I wear my pump however it takes my fancy at the time - be it under clothing or carry it in my pocket however I always if it looks like I am going to be patted down by a security person say I am...

Sudden rise in BG after 2 hrs of meal

As hanadr said in the first reply, I believe you should be looking at what you are eating and understanding how that impacts your body prior to thinking of changing insulin etc. You mention Indian foods, which from experience do exactly what you say if eaten in the evening as unless you are...
