I agree with the comments that as the weather is changing, more things done outside etc basal and bolus amounts change a lot. As said before I use a few different profiles and what I found was through the winter I stayed pretty much on my 'not doing very much profile' which delivered a lot more...

I have my Basal rate set at .25 of a unit for a block of 4 hours each day with no issues and at .40 of a unit for another few hours each day. It has been working without issue like this for the past 12 months.

Re: Flexlinkplus re-call Why - use Flex Links which are not the same product and have the same priming approach. Flex Links have not been recalled, it is Flex Link Plus only so there is no need to change to Rapid D Sets unless you have a specific desire to do so.

It is a new cannula that when inserted does not leave a needle to dispose of - the needle is contained in a sealed unit (I move to FlexLink plus from FlexLink next week). Accu-Chek have some info' re FlexLink plus on their website.

Donnellysdogs, I've been using the same sets as you for the past 13 months without any of the issues you mention, in fact they will work for a good 8 days if needed (do not ask!).

The problem with the basal rates when you have different amounts delivered each hour is your body takes a few days to change time zone although your mind and physical location changes immediately. That is where it gets fun - say the dawn phenomena happening at 11am instead of 6am for a few days...
