    Pandemic reboot advice please!

Thanks Mrs A2. You are an inspiration. I've done pretty well on low carb but I haven't had much weight loss. I have dropped a dress size and feel better for it but still could do with losing a few stone. I just really like eating. I halved my HbA1c last year but it's going back up again and I...

    Pandemic reboot advice please!

Thanks Brunneria. I know you are right. And I have really discovered so much good stuff on low carb, really very rarely feel deprived. Have just slipped into bad habits during lock down. I guess I let myself off the hook. But it doesn't feel right. I've got to the stage now where I actually...

    Pandemic reboot advice please!

Thanks TeddyTottie, that's a great encouragement and a good reminder about homemade frozen cream with fruit. I even have frozen raspberries in my freezer. No excuses, must get back on that wagon and really test out the fasting business. Time for a concerted effort now. Thanks for the support.

    Pandemic reboot advice please!

Hi, I've struggled with stress during the pandemic and during lock down got into some bad comfort eating - icecream is the latest evil- it's just so hot!! . We also have a glut of fruit in the garden and have been eating much more than I am used to as I've been on a low carb diet for a couple of...

Diabetic nurse opinion on corona risk

I work in a small independent Museum. We have closed to protect our volunteers and visitors. Our whole cultural sector has closed down. This means that I might lose my job, my house, my work place. I don't know if you can appreciate how stressful this is. We have done this altruisticalky but we...

Had a visit with my dietician and diabetes nurse.

I think it will take the nhs a while but I think change is coming as the evidence stacks up and you people on here do such a great advocacy job.

Had a visit with my dietician and diabetes nurse.

I had my review today and honestly my diabetes nurse was grinning from ear to ear! She was genuinely excited for me and it was so nice to see. We've been on this journey together and I am grateful to her. I was diagnosed in April 2018 with an hba1c of 88. Today I am at 49 with a healthy liver...

    Night Outs!

I think it's a question of zoning in. I used to go clubbing, have a vodka and dance like crazy. The dancing made me feel drunk even if I wasn't. Music can do that. I think its the feeling of being on the outside and that is a self-consciousness that alcohol can help alleviate but maybe there are...

    Burnout?

It's funny but at first I felt deprived of sugar when i gave it up and now I just can't believe I was that bothered. You really can have an enjoyable life on a low carb high fat diet. There is so much more to life than bread and beer!

    Newbie

I'm 18 months in and my hba1c is down to 49 through diet and excercise. I'm feeling more well than I have in a very long while. It's become a positive journey and I felt just like you 18 months ago. The people on here are very kind so well done for finding this site so early in your diagnosis...

Not to eat more than three times per day

That's not true. I can very easily overeat on fat.
