    general manager
    Type of diabetes:
    Type 2
    Treatment type:
Prescribed metformin and not yet taken it.
Jogging, cycling, yoga, walking, dancing, gardening
Lovely home cooked food, dancing and flowers
Not being able to eat pavlova any more
Diagnosed in April 2018 at 83, have been on lowish carb diet until March 19 when started testing on a code free and then on a low carb diet and trying to get to keto or at least very low carb diet. Currently Hba1c 59 but probably now lower than that. Averaging 128 (7.1). 121 before eating and 130 after.
Currently on week 8 of NHS 0 to 5K. So increasing my activity.
Have only half a thyroid after a goitre nearly choked me to death but not on any medication.
Still have an issue with eating too much and eating out of stress, boredom, emotional need – and greed – but have radically changed what I eat and now want to change when I eat. I am finding this forum very helpful for motivation.
