    Just found out I’m pregnant

That’s really good to hear! And don’t worry about starting the ypso! I was nervous too but they’ll probably start you slightly higher and it’s pretty conservative at first! It’s also great your team are keeping such a close eye on you! Sounds like you’ll be absolutely fine :-)

    Just found out I’m pregnant

Hi @CharMon, congratulations! I totally empathise with you. I hate hypos and used to have a really bad fear of them. I actually had some therapy before getting pregnant which has been very helpful, especially emdr was useful. I think insulin sensitivity tends to be somewhere between 6 weeks...

    Just found out I’m pregnant

I thought I’d post a quick update as everyone on here has been so lovely! I’m now 21 weeks and baby is looking happy and healthy! The team are pleased with my blood sugars and I’m hitting about 75% in the tight range. I have yet to experience the insulin resistance phase though so we will see...

    Just found out I’m pregnant

Thank you so much for your kind words, that’s really reassuring. The last couple days have been a little better, although still not completely hitting the targets. I’m so happy to be expecting and so terrified. I think as my first pregnancy was filled with stress from the diabetes diagnosis...

    Just found out I’m pregnant

Thank you:) I’ve only just found out today, so have emailed my diabetes team but haven’t heard back yet. I happen to have an appointment scheduled with my consultant in a couple of weeks anyway, so that’s lucky I suppose! I suppose I’m worried as I was very well controlled up until a couple...

    Just found out I’m pregnant

Hi everyone, I have type 1 diabetes and I’ve just found out I’m pregnant. I’m terrified of anything going wrong. This is my second pregnancy, but was diagnosed with diabetes during my first pregnancy at 35 weeks (gestational, then type 2 after birth, then type 1 the following year). I’m on...

Type 1 and BG's suddenly dropping immediately after eating

I have had this over the last several days. Absolutely no clue why, wondering if I might be getting ill? I was wondering if you’re still struggling with this and if you found an explanation?

Experiences of type 1 in pregnancy

Hi @EllieM, thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s reassuring to hear :-) The hypos is something that worries me as I find them pretty scary still. Hoping a pump would help with them though. You are obviously absolutely right that people with type 1 have had babies since before...

Experiences of type 1 in pregnancy

I am not really sure what I’m hoping to get out of posting, maybe some reassurance or experiences on type 1 and pregnancy/labour/babies as I’m looking to conceive and feeling pretty anxious about it all! I was diagnosed with diabetes in my first pregnancy so don’t have any relevant experiences...

    Can hba1c be wrong?

Thank you all! It’s starting to make more sense, especially with the lifespan of the red blood cells. However I’m still confused with my TIR being particularly poor recently, the hba1c result being better than before. I might just accept and celebrate this however instead of trying to...

    Can hba1c be wrong?

My time in range has been pretty poor due to illness and a variety of other things, so it made me think my hba1c would be much higher. Even the difference between the hba1c in November and December is a bit strange to me…it just made me wonder whether it could be quite inaccurate. Maybe I’m...

    Can hba1c be wrong?

Happy new year! I was just wondering if hba1c can be wrong at all? I’ve always read that hba1c is the most accurate measurement (I know nothing is 100% accurate), but I’m wondering which measurement to trust… My hba1c in November was 59, my hba1c in December was 55. My dexcom suggests my hba1c...
