Hi, I have just found out i'm pregnant and the hospital have offered to put me on a HCL pump. Anyone had any experience with the HCL pumps from Ypsomed or Dana? I'm not sure what to expect and if I will have enough support as it's all new!

Congratulations!

It’s been a couple weeks, so maybe they’ve already put you on a pump. I was put on the ypso around 9 weeks pregnant and it’s been great!

I was on the Omnipod 5 before so had experience in HCL already. Are you coming from a pump? I found the switch from injections to HCL quite a leap (but great!), but HCL to HCL was fine.

Did you have any specific questions on the pump? Pregnancy support tends to be very good, so I wouldn’t worry too much :-)

Yes - I moved onto Ypsomed from Omnipod in June! It takes a lot of work at first to trust, but now I have got my average sugars down a lot! I probably will move back to Omnipod after pregnancy but I would recommend. This is coming from someone who is very anxious about diabetes overall and struggles with fear of hypos!
