Her TED talk was the first video I watched when diagnosed with diabetes.
she gave me hope that all is not lost and I could actually take control without medication.
A very brave lady to disagree with the standard treatment and diet advice.
Sad news, we owe her so much.
Congratulations on losing that weight, fingers crossed for your results.
Lots of good advice on this forum, from people who have achieved great results and managed to maintain them.
Finding what works for you and is fairly easy to manage for life is how I have been fighting diabetes.

Hello Gary,
You have done brilliantly, well done.
I can vouch for getting rid of the car, no choice now but to walk everywhere!
Good luck for striding towards remission.
74 kg this morning.
My weigh seems to go between 73.5 and 74.5 these last few months, so I’m quite happy with that.
Low carb and intermittent fasting has really changed my life for the better. I just need to stay on the wagon, hopefully.
6.3 at 7am, then 4.7 at 9am. Would this be the dawn effect? I only had coffee as I don’t normally eat until 2pm.
I have fallen off the wagon slightly during the last 3 weeks, carb wise (pie & chips, bacon sandwich etc).
Back on track now and hopefully will be in remission by April if my next A1c...
So pleased you found it useful. I like the what to buy guides for different supermarkets.
It helps to have more meal options, without the carbs and excessive sugar.
I also watch Dennis Pollack videos to remind myself why it’s so important to test regularly.
Best wishes.
There are lots of videos on YouTube. I tend to follow Keto Fitness Club, which is a UK family who are easy to watch and also produce recipe books. I’m not a great cook, but manage to reproduce foods which look similar and quite enjoy.
Happy cooking.
I used to buy that from Tesco, with the green bits. Didn’t really like it that much, but it was okay.
Had a go at making my own due to shortages, what an improvement, and so easy to do (if you have a food processor).
Chopped shallots fried in butter with garlic, ginger and sliced peppers. Add...
Thank you, I enjoy boring people about following a LC/HF diet
4.8 for me today, first time I’ve been in the 4’s.
I put it down to chicken egg fried cauliflower rice, and stopped eating bread as it made me bloated.
Follow the dietary advice given on this forum, not the NHS Eatwell plate. You will need to embrace a lifestyle change, which takes a bit of getting used to, but the benefits are huge.
Everyone is here to help you, good luck.
74.6 kg today, so I have finally reached my target (going by the NHS BMI website).
I have lost 30kg doing LCHF and 18/6 fasting, no meds luckily.
It’s all thanks to you wonderful people, sharing experiences and encouraging others.
5.9 this morning @ 6am.
I had my booster yesterday, no ill effects, so I’m quite happy.
My BG is gradually getting better, but it’s not as easy as it seems.
I hope to post more, as these forums have helped so much.
Thank you everyone.
