    Carbohydrate blockers

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather! I have just been in Boots and they sell carbohydrate (and fat) blockers. Has anyone tried these to bring blood sugars down? It is apparently one of the side effects? Or to loose a few pounds? Thanks

    BG & Porridge this morning

I find a large spoonful of coconut oil in porridge reduces my spike. Doesn't taste too bad.

    Blood spikes

Thank you. I Do tend todrop very quickly down again, if I tested my blood a few minutes later I'd miss the spike it is very quick, back to under 5.5 within 20 minutes ish of the high? These figures don't account for how long you would be at a level, I could spike and be back ok again by 2 hours...

    Blood spikes

On some foods I can spike quite high, i.e. from a 5 to a 10 but immediately drop down again to normal within 2 hours. Do you think this is too high and doing damage, or is the fact that I drop right down immediately again ok? I am type 2 diet and metapormin controlled. Thank you

Hot flushes-anyone ketogenic to control it- advice from all types welcome

This isn't the same but I recently had `age related` hot flushes and two things helped me with they symptoms, the first was an aerosol can of water (Evian I think) which sprayed on my forehead, back of neck and wrists really took the heat off and the second was a plain old Japanese style hand...

Type 1.5 or 2 on iPad

Hi apparently I am showing as a type 1.5 on my info but I am type 2 so I wish to change it, however I can't find where my personal info is nor how to amend it. I use an iPad so hovering over my name doesn't do it? Thanks

    Reading labels in USA

Thanks guys x I don't eat any of the obvious carbs anyway, bread, crisps, rice, pasta, pastry etc. it is just that for example I was offered some sweet potatoes crisps and I wondered ( with hope in my heart lol) and there was a sugar free strawberry lolly at a park but a quick look said 5% ( of...

    Reading labels in USA

Uh oh, thank you too much math for me in line at a Disney Kiosk ordering food ( or any other time of day). Any 'quick fixes' i.e. Look for less than 5% or something?

    Reading labels in USA

Hi all, I am in Florida right now and am hoping someone can help me with reading the labels for carbs? They measure the carbs differently here, giving me carbs per portion rather than as a percentage (i.e. Grams in 100). They also give a percentage of your days carb count which is really high so...

Is it possible for something to have sugar and be low carb?

Very interesting conversations- thank you guys for all your time! I realised i hadn't worded my question very well and perhaps in the wrong topic so re-wrote and posted somewhere else ( and thankfully got the answer i wanted) but this has all been fascinating reading. Where does it say i am type...
