Tesco Finest Spelt and Rye Sliced Loaf - naughty!

I like Allinsons Scandalous Seeds Wholemeal. Tastes really nice and it is 29.2g of carbs per 100g whereas most breads seem to be 40-50g per 100g. Two slices of Scandalous Seeds is about 27g of carbs and makes a lovely sandwich without giving my bg a big spike.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I tend to be in a rush in the mornings but at lunchtime it was 4.9. Fasting in the sense of nothing eaten apart from black coffee.

Type 2 Lidl low GI Bread

I don't know if it is temporary or not but Lidl are selling the in-store bakery protein rolls again. I had one last night with my salmon and salad and 2hrs later my bg was 5.9. Tasted really nice as well, much better than I expected.

    Newly diagnosed.

Got my third Hba1c results this morning and it was 35 so quite pleased. I'm not stupid enough to think "I'm cured!" but at the same time the question I'm asking myself is "so the average is good but what about the extremes either side, what are they like?" Am I thinking to much about this or is...

What do people think of the Sinocare Safe AQ blood monitor?

I guess I should always take 3 readings and take the middle one then. I'm going to need more blood!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I forgot to check this morning but I did get an email with my blood results from last week and my Hba1c is now 35. Had a meal deal for lunch, chicken pasta main and two eggs as the snack. Just done a 2hrs later test and 8.3 but I didn't test beforehand so I don't know how much of a spike it is...

What do people think of the Sinocare Safe AQ blood monitor?

I've just done 3 tests in quick succession, 4th finger, little finger and middle finger, 3.8, 3.5, 4.4. This was with a Sinocare Safe-Accu. I bought it from Amazon and chose it as it was cheap. I don't know if that variability is user error or the unit is cheap for a reason.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.1 this morning. Have been unwell with a heavy cold for a few days and have noticed unexpectedly high readings. Sunday 7.1, yesterday 6.9. I didn't eat anything yesterday and Sunday I had yoghurt with berries and a peach for breakfast and baked cod with salad for dinner. Dinner tonight will be...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.9 this morning. I did have a couple of small slices of cake in the office and dinner was lentil & bacon soup with one slice of seeded sourdough followed by baked fish with carrots, broccoli and sprouts. Also didn’t sleep well last night but on the plus side I did discover 6-music does a few...

Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

Espresso, another espresso, a strong americano, 60g pot of cashews and a small banana mid morning. bought a meal deal for lunch but options were limited so ended up with a chicken, bacon and lettuce sandwich, two hard boiled eggs and a bottle of water. Not ideal as I tend to avoid sandwiches...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1 this morning, which is surprising as I had a spotted **** last night for pudding. I don’t know what my peak was after that pud as I fell asleep in my chair.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.1 this morning. Breakfast will be a spinach omelette and I might risk a mince pie this afternoon. Dinner will be chicken with mixed veg.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

8.8 at the 2hr mark so relieved it is on a downward trajectory.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Four slices of bread, a small pack of bacon and three cups of tea. 90 mins after my sandwiches my bg was 11.4 and about to do the 120mins test at 4pm. Not doing that again, including at Christmas.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.5 this morning. yesterday I had one latte, a mince pie from the same coffee shop (£3! For a mince pie! What is the world coming to?) and some airfried chicken thighs and drumsticks sprinkled with barbecue seasoning. I was at 9.8 or 9.9 1hr after the mince pie then 7.something 30 mins later.
