    Should I Stop Metformin Altogether?

@Resurgam I'm still trying to get my head round counting carbs I do switch it up a bit, if the family are having chicken curry and rice I'll have baked potato and curry, if I'm making them a roast dinner I will occasionally join in with meat and veg. I'm like a todder, I'm very fussy @Guzzler...

    Should I Stop Metformin Altogether?

I was diagnosed with t2 (hba1c 53) in December, and was in denial for the first month or two. Doc prescribed metformin 1 a day, but I was also testing my levels after eating (not advised by doc)and tried really hard to stick to diabetes diet (but levels were always really high) Im awfully...

    Jump of 4.2 after lunch!

Thank you all for all of your advice, everything is taken on board! But I'm thinking lidls protein rolls may have to go, took reading before lunch 6.2 (yay me!) Then had protein roll with loads of wafer thin ham, butter and mustard and two hours later I read 10.3 :bigtears: I am newly diagnosed...

    First visit with doctor

Yeah that' what I was like yesterday, even worse when I was trying to settle the littlun to sleep. It' quite tricky trying to get somewhere fast, whilst trying to be super quiet :nailbiting: not too bad today though, just making some really strange noises (think stranger things series 2 :joyful:)

    First visit with doctor

Can I just ask, when anyone first took metformin, if you experienced any nasty stomach problems (on the first day of taking them) My stomach was fine and dandy this morning, got home from docs, popped a pill with a bacon roll (low GI from Lidl) had a nap with littlun then woke up with the...

    First visit with doctor

So today I had my first visit with my doctor since diagnosed, and to say I was underwhelmed is an understatement :( firstly she told me 'well done for spotting the signs and speaking my concerns about diabetes' when in fact i had a routine blood test and the doctor diagnosed me over the phone...

    Jump of 4.2 after lunch!

I retested and retested again  as for the 90 minutes testing it all depends on when the littlun has her nap, as she likes to nap in my bed...with me. And I generally fall straight asleep :joyful: so I test before the two hours so I know I've tested at some point after lunch! Here's'...

    Jump of 4.2 after lunch!

Only me! So I know it will take time to get my blood sugar working the way I want it to, but I'm really frustrated with this afternoons reading. I read about lidls protein rolls so iff I went to buy some. Took reading before lunch and got 5.6 (it's been in the 8s and 9s this last week) made...

    Thought I was being good...

I last ate at 12, when I had some a small salad and ham. I couldn't test then as I'd ran out if strips, and the new ones didn't turn up til 3ish! But no snacking in between. Drinks mainly coffee with sweetners and diet lemonade. And no coating on chicken. I haven't got my head round working...

    Thought I was being good...

So I thought I'd be really, really good tonight for my dinner. I cooked everyone chicken burgers, chips, sweetcorn, coleslaw and not once did I swipe a chip or steal a spoonful of coleslaw. I then went in to cook my dinner, small roasted chicken fillet with 2 florets of broccoli, a tablespoon of...
