Should I ask for a referral to an endicronologist?

Thanks! I'm now in touch with the surgery to arrange a referral . . .

Should I ask for a referral to an endicronologist?

I've been on the LCHF diet for just over a year. Have been taken off metformin which caused B12 problems and have been on sitagliptin and 80mg gliclazide. My last HBa1C was 39 upon which my GP said I was in danger of hypos and took the gliclazide away. Since then my fasting sugar levels have...

    Off metformin!!

My GP has been very good in letting me have injections every two months and they do sort the memory out for a while but in the last two weeks before the injection is due my memory goes "fuzzy" again. Hope this helps.

    Off metformin!!

I've been struggling with B12 deficiency caused by metformin = 2-monthly injections, tiredness, fuzzy memory, etc. I've been on the LCHF diet since last April and have lost 11 kg with 3 kg still to go but medication reduced by GP accordingly and this morning she has finally agreed to take me...

    Low Carb v calories

Hi All - firstly, many thanks to everyone for the advice and support over the years - it's a great job we all do! I'm TII diagnosed 10 years ago with metformin blocking B12 absorption so I resolved in April this year to go on the LCHF diet. This has worked really well - lost weight, halved...

    Metformin - B12 Deficiency!!!!!

Just a few thoughts about metformin blocking absorption of B12. Firstly, it's in the metformin info leaflet that 1 in 10,000 are liable for this to happen (including me!). Secondly, when I was diagnosed I went to the Pernicious Anaemia Society website for information and it's extremely...

    Metformin causing low Vitamin B12

There's lots of information on the Pernicious Anaemia Society website. My B12 deficiency has been established as being caused by metformin. Because I'm getting most of the symptoms despite injections I'm trying to get off metformin one way or another . . .

Acceptable BG levels before and after meals

Hi everyone - I had my review with my GP yesterday with an HBA1C of 59, having previously been 50. We decided I should change from gliclazide to metformin and she suggested that I should monitor BG levels before and after meals. I've always taken the fasting reading first thing in the morning...

Lost job due to hypo effects.

Everybody's advice is sound. But, no-one has mentioned the Disability Discrimination Act. I think there are cases around whether diabetes is recognised as a disability (it should be!) in which case employers have to make a "reasonable adjustment" for you - this sounds a bit vague so suggest...
