    Thalassemia trait affecting blood glucose readings

    I have the Thalassemia B trait as a carrier but not a sufferer. I was recently diagnosed as pre diabetic and wondered if this condition may give false glucose readings. I am also IgA deficient and have autoimmune Neutropenia.

    I'm only just pre diabetic. I had a small chicken massala and korma curry, no rice but instead some lentils with broad beans, runner beans and some tiny broccoli florets. Plus one samosa.
