Just been for my annual review and my Hba1c is down to 57 (7.2) woo hoo! :) I've lost a stone, cholesterol is down. Blood pressure, liver, kidneys and thyroid all good too. Forziga has definitely made the difference for me :)
Thanks for your reply. I don't drink a lot of tea or coffee but I do like to drink large glasses of milk, sometimes this is the only thing that will quench my thirst!
Hi :)
I was diagnosed with T2 almost 2 years ago and whilst I'm a lover of just about all foods, I was definitely more savoury than sweet. That's all changed since my diagnosis and crave more sweet things. I also drink loads of milk. Has anyone else found their tastes change in this way?
Just started Forxiga today in addition to metformin. My control has been reasonable but my DN and GP are interested to see if it will help me lose weight. Fingers crossed! Good tip about the mouth spray - will keep it in mind :)
I'm ok thanks. Been quite headachy recently but work has been hectic so probably just that. I guess that's the trouble but there's always the chance that if you didn't go, you'd have missed something
Check up today went reasonably well. HbA1c down to 87 from 94 so heading in the right direction. Cholesterol down from 5.5 to 5.2 and weight down by 4 pounds. I guess that's not too bad after a month but still some way to go. Metformin increased to 3 times per day and started on simvastatin...
Metformin seems to be ok and apart from a dodgy tummy on the first couple of days, I've not had too bad a time with side effects. Bloods to be checked tomorrow and appt with practice nurse in a fortnight. Fingers crossed all is well :)
Well was back at GP today but notes hadn't came through from hospital so had to do another urine test and lo and behold still showing ketones so sent back to the hospital. Upshot is I've been started on Metformin and to follow up with GP again.
Thanks all. Was at hospital on tues as practice nurse found trace of ketones in my urine sample. Hospital recon firmed diagnosis of diabetes but were happy that I didn't have dka. They also advised that whilst blood glucose is high I wasn't considered a medical emergency. I was sent home...
