Type 2 Diabetics wake up at 3:00 am ?

This is fascinating. I'm getting the heavy sweating too. I often wake up wet through and once I go to the loo, I'm really cold when I get back to bed. I've had a liver problem recently as a result of a nasty virus and/ or the antibiotics used to treat it. I am having regular b.ood tests until...

    Thrush

Thank you for the support; I'm always grateful. I've bought Caneston with support from a lovely pharmacist who thankfully is a locum for our usual fairly 'unsympathetic' man. I would have found it difficult to talk to him.

    Thrush

Thank you. You're probably right there as I also am in the middle of a nasty flare-up of lichen sclerosis .

    Thrush

Hello all. I just had a nasty dose of Thrush and was prescribed Fluconazole. My BS shot up a couple of days afterwards and I wondered if anyone else had experience of this.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hello all. 7.00 for me this morning. It's slowly returning to normal after some nasty health problems so hopefully all will settle in a couple of weeks.

Well done. That's a real achievement. I think there are quite a few of us who wished we'd known about low carb years ago rather than being given the 'diabetic diet'.

    Liver problems

I've never thought about that. I always assumed that it was accurate. It was changes like that that always got my doctor suggesting more medication. I have an appointment with the diabetic nurse on Monday so I feel forewarned now thank you.

    Liver problems

Hello all. I've got problems with my liver at the moment possibly from a nasty virus or a recent course of antibiotics. I had a blood test to check HbA1c and its gone from 50 to 55 in 6 months with no real change in diet. Could this relate to liver problems? Has anyone else been here?

Type 2 Diabetics wake up at 3:00 am ?

I've had type 2 for 30 years now and my control has been good since going low to medium carb 6 years ago. Sleep has always been a bit of an issue for me so waking every night isn't unusual, what is, is that its almost the same time every night and the difficulty in going back to sleep. Once my...

Type 2 Diabetics wake up at 3:00 am ?

I'm very interested in all these comments. I too wake up every night usually around the 3 am although sometimes have already been up a couple of times to pee. Dapagliflozin doesn't help here! We usually eat dinner (low carb) around 6.30 pm and occasionally have a small orange at around 9pm. I...

    Type 2 Yogurt

Hello all. I've been eating medium to low carb for 7 years now. I have full fat Greek yoghurt for breakfast every day. When you look at the carb content of full fat greek yoghurt v low fat, the low fat is higher in carbs with more sugar. My cholesterol hasn't gone up at all in that time neither...

    Struggling...

I agree. I managed to give up gliclazide after a while doing low carb. Do keep up your testing regime. It'll help you know what effect different foods have on you. Well done for the bike. Better a small time than nothing and you can gradually build it up as you get used to it. You're on the...

    Counselling and Diabetes?

Hi. I was referred by a dietitian to the mental health support service but after their initial assessment given a rating of mild depression and referred to the counselling service. That was in August but no joy yet and as I've since had a bowel cancer scare and a diagnosis of diverticular...

    Counselling and Diabetes?

I feel for you. It's often the lack of understanding from others that undoes you isn't it? Do try and take care of yourself and above all be kind to yourself. My wonderful doctor (now retired) used to ask me how 'my' diabetes was doing. He understood that it was a different condition for...

    Counselling and Diabetes?

Hello. I am actually waiting for a counselling appointment since early August. A dietician recognised where I was and put in the request but they're obviously snowed under. I agree, the relentlessness of diabetes can be difficult but I am also dealing with extras of lichen sclerosis, a hiatus...
