    Vegetarian hypo fixers?

Apple juice in the little cartons. It's almost as good as lift drinks. Very fast. Dextrose tablets, 3 of them, available in boots, Lloyds etc. avoid chocolate, milk, gelatin etc. You want the sugars as available as quickly as possible, no digestion delays from the likes of gelatine.

At the sauna I went to, we used to dip in the river, pop into the sauna, do a couple more river dips during the session. Brilliant for internal beaming, yes I used to notice my sugar used to lower during the sauna session. The next day? Ah I used to pick up other people's bugs from the sauna so...

Mention diabetes in interview/ work machinery and insurance

Heh, got a laugh outta that babies analogy. I suppose too, most of us don't go for a job unless we think we'll be able to do it, that our life choices won't prevent us from doing the work. A reasonable n honest enough attitude to go at work with

Mention diabetes in interview/ work machinery and insurance

Just wondering about this. Do we need to mention we have diabetes during an interview? I know that insurance companies are going to be tricky about diabetics driving machinery in work. Does anyone with type 1 here drive a forklift/tractor at work? Do employers think the diabetes must be A Very...

    Colds and viruses

I didn't get a head cold this year, this is the first year I went weekly to a little mobile sauna that parks in the mountains beside a river. We do the sauna(80-100degrees)and dip in the river(5-8 degrees). The shock shifts the head colds right outta my body! I get the flu jab yearly, yes I felt...

Advice on Running an half Marathon on injection

Georgiee, firstly, I'm not a runner. Also type 1. I'd bad low bloods. On a hike late Sunday. Air temperature- HEAT might cause us trouble, I think we need less quick acting insulin in heat? Are you able to reduce the overnight insulin a little, after running a 10k? You didn't have lows during...
