How do I know if my needles are too short?

I have just been prescribed Mounjaro and the surgery are going to prescribe 4mm needles. Before they did I had a quick Google and read that people with lots of subcutaneous fat (guilty!) may need longer needles eg 8mm. My question is how will I know if 4mm needles are too short? The surgery...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Was going to weigh myself yesterday but ran out of energy. I definitely feel smaller, my belly no longer sticks out further than my boobs! Will try to get on the scales this weekend.

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Thank you @Antje77 I'm sure we'd have fun  I've been a bit tearful today after WhatsApping an old friend from my teens and remembering my old life. I thought I was resigned to my new circumstances but I'm obviously still grieving deep down. Probably triggered by the holiday, I've had a...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

10.3 2 hours earlier than usual, wonder if that's significant.

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

It's on private land so presumably they just lock the access gates. If I knew I was going to use it more than once I wouldn't mind but this year is going to be very expensive as it is. Would be useful to put my phone in I suppose if nothing else. Insurance and safety I guess, so they can see...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

10.3 Not upset as I tested 2 hours earlier than usual. A few strips of biltong brought it down to 8.0, at around the time I'd usually get up and see a 9.5, so it's a win. Got a massive mixing bowl of homemade Greek salad to eat today as it wouldn't fit in the fridge. It won't be a hardship...

"the time has come" the walrus said "to talk of many things..."

Hello from a fellow spoonie (ME/CFS and almost certainly ND as well). Only just seen this thread as I've been on holiday, but your situation is in parts very similar to mine, although I've only been trying to manage diabetes for a few months. I feel your pain. My daughter's 19 and has put on a...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I've had a look online and the nearest sea swimming is about 20 miles away, so it's a choice of two lakes. The nearest one is only open until the end of September but the year-round one is only 5-10 miles away and looks attractive. Trying to persuade family to help make it happen for my birthday...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I'd love to give it a try sometime, not sure the water round here is clean enough unfortunately. As a child my brother and I would spend so long in the sea we'd turn blue!
