Thanks to you all for the tip about contacting my PCT. The retinopathy screeening service got in direct touch with me and an appointment made for next week.... :)
thanks for all your comments. I did email the Surrey PCT and had a reply the same day saying they had passed my email to the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service Surrey (DRSSS) who would contact me directly....we shall see...
T2 since September 2010 - have excellent GP care and pleased how everything appears to be under control. The one problem I have is getting an appointment to have my eyes screened. My GP wrote to the NHS is September last year - chased them in December and again in April 2011 - and still no...
Just didnt feel 'right' - i didnt get any of the more classic symptoms such as a gasping thirst and up during the night to wee. Needless to say it was a shock but a shock which led me to take a grasp of matters and do something about it. I have found being pro-active with the condition has...
Had my second three monthly assessment and results today.

Thanks for your comments. The crowning glory was a long haul last week to Singapore and BA offered me a scone with clotted cream and strawberry Jam for afternoon tea. I would like to meet their dietician advisors....I forgot to mention in my original comments that I do register with BA each...
I am on a mission to convert British Airways to do something about their poor catering for Diabetics.
I can catalogue a whole range of awful and inappropriate meals served to me as a Diabetic but it is rather pointless. Let me simply highlight one flight last week on 13th November LHR to...
I'm going crazy with thrush on my Penis......diagnosed T2 one month ago and on 2 x Metformin daily; BG down from 15 to 6.5 - and thrush only started appearing 10 days ago - cream prescribed doesnt seem to be easing it either... any advice or comments as to why this has appeared ? - since my BG...
I have been through the onset of ED but since I was put on metaformin it seems to have got much worse. I havent seen any reference to lowering of 'libido' in side-effects of Metaformin - anyone know if the drug has this side-effect ?
3 weeks into all this and I really am very grateful to so many posters for educating me. I'm fortunate in having a very proactive GP and combined with my positive attitude and wanting to be in control feel as if I am on top of things. Early days tho...
Gone from a bulky 108kgs down to 98kgs...
