Re just newly diagnosed:
I developed diabetes from prolonged use of steroids for asthma. Did they give you a blood testing kit? I got most of my information from this site. I am lucky that my GP is very pro-active in this area. Read as much as you can and you will soon not feel so...
Hi I got steroidal diabetes following multiple tablets for asthma. Like you my sugars go up to 27 but I have Gliclazide to take to help keep it down. I find if I take Gliclazide at lunchtime when the sugars have climbed to enormous peaks that helps keep them down.
I think the steroids stay...
I saw the post on Raw Diet and how (can't see screen and can't remember the name Jack?) and I have recently begun this diet in an effort to get my sugars (type 2) under control. My morning sugar is never less than 8 and I don't quite know how to control this. I have been diabetic for 10 years...
I have been trying to use the pages from the internet re raw food. Some of the recipes are marvellous and extremely tasty. I have suceeded in getting my BM down from 11 in the am to 7.2 today. I have done this by having a Green Smoothie in the morning for breakfast, then a lunch made from...
Can anyone tell my why GP's bury their head in the sand with type II and testing. Surely it is important for us to know what is going on with our sugars rather than rely on testing once a week. My GP absolutely hates prescribing test sticks for me (even when I have to take steroids for my...
Thanks, my GP just tells me that the high sugars will not harm me in the short term. He does not seem to understand that the asthma makes me feel terrible, the steroids make me like a raging bull and the high sugars really make me feel awful.
HI, if your readings go over 13 then you have type II this is what the specialists go by, a couple of readings over 13 mean you are diabetic. Hope this helps :)
I have asthma and have been taking steroids for it for years. I have type II diabetes. I am now finding that even on a low dose of steroids 20mg my sugars are instantly leaping into the high teens and even early 20's, it is making me nervous of taking the steroids I need for my asthma. I take...
This could be high sugars causing the buzzing in your ears. Is it the same level all the time. I get this and when my sugars are higher than they should be the ringing is worse. Monitor it and see how you go.
HI there, don't be scared. Just read as much as you can about things, keep the carbs as low as you can because these elevate the sugars quickly and keep smiling. I have had type 11 for about ten years now. Losing weight has helped me. Take it easy. :)
I am type 2 diabetic and not always well controlled. Tiredness is a large part of my problem and the fact that the GP will not prescribe enough testing sticks for me. Just one tub per six months!
I am interested in the posts about B vitamins as I seem to lack them, and find that taking a B...
