Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Not for me. I use the "old" Libre 2 because in the Netherlands for some reason you can't buy the 2+ or the 3. They seem to be reserved for people with a prescription. What happens constantly, is that it works good for about a week. Than over a period of 2-3 days the readings go down and keep...

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Nothing but trouble for me too. Started using the Libre 2 in early 21. At that time they were great, no problems at all. My problems started late 21/early 22 and have been getting worse and worse. Hardly any of them, if I even wear one any more because they are worthless and the moment and I...

    Constant Freestyle L2 failures

I have somewhat of the same experience. I started with the Libre 2 early 2021 and had no problems at all. Then at a certain moment, can't remember when, one sensor after the other started to fail prematurely. Mostly a couple a days before they would expire. Because I have to self fund them...

Type 2 Does apple cider vinegar actually work for lowering blood sugar?

Tried it a couple of years ago, did not seem to do anything for me unfortunately. But you can always try, maybe it does help you. Make sure to use one with the "mother" in it and to dilute it with plenty of water to prevent any harm.

How much does blood glucose rise after eating 10g of carbs

I would think the rise to be very dependent on the person, or even the time of day, and can not really be predicted? If I eat something in the morning it has a much bigger effect on my bg than when I eat the same thing late in the afternoon. From personal experience, prepare for some surprises...

    Overnight weetabix breakfast pots

One way of looking at T2D is being allergic to carbs, so overall less is better for us. How many carbs you can eat without raising your blood glucose to much depends on how insulin resistant you are (most t2b are insulin resistant). The general advice is to get a glucometer (or cgm) and test...

    No weight loss

My personal experience, yes you can. But in my case not easily. I started out with skipping breakfast. At the time I did not know about this forum or intermitted fasting, low carb etc. This did not work for me. At that point, many years ago, I bought the Dr. Atkins book and started to replace my...

Snacks to reduce the dawn effect glucose spike

This is one of those things were it is clear we all react differently to different things. Some say taking apple cider vinegar before going to bed works, others use a piece of hard cheese or take a bit of carbs in the form of half a biscuit or half a green apple. For some it works, for others...

    Libre 2 plus

@TheSecretCarbAddict Great work! I didn't know about the existence of a Plus version to this very moment. Unfortunately I can't buy it yet in the Netherlands it seems. Just one question though, when the sensor stopped, did you replace it with another Plus version sensor? And more to the point...

Cholesterol results, should I be worried?

Hi @AloeSvea I let myself be talked into starting the statin again (Atorvastatin) and regretting it already. I biked to work last Thursday hoping it would be good for the gout. Started the statin the next day after the doctors visit and still having muscle pain in my calves the next Wednesday...

Cholesterol results, should I be worried?

Could you please elaborate a bit on this? I take it you mean the build up of the LDL?

Cholesterol results, should I be worried?

Thanks for the extensive reply @AloeSvea ! Last year I was convinced I was doing pretty good but these, unexpected, results and the gout plus the conflicting information/ways to deal with it is driving me a bit bonkers. My omad lchf diet most of the time consisting of a portion of meat for the...

Cholesterol results, should I be worried?

Had my blood tested today because for the first time in my live I have a bout of gout I think you call it in my big toe and the ball joint. Went to the GP who was pretty positive in the gout diagnosis but wanted to do a blood test to confirm. She also decided it would be a good moment to also do...

Prediabetes Blood Glucose spikes highest after first meal

I would say it's personal. Other factors could play a role but often insulin resistance is highest in the morning and/or you could also have a slight dawn phenomenon effect. For me, with a pretty bad dawn phenomenon effect, the result is that if I drink kefir (fermented milk) in the morning it...
