    Type 1 Insulin Pump soon!

Thank you so much! I'll keep you updated on how I get on, overall I'm really excited but I'm plenty prepared for some issues early on.

    Type 1 Insulin Pump soon!

Hi all. I'm getting a Medtronic 640G on Tuesday and it's my first ever insulin pump as I was diagnosed in March. Any advice or experiences with this pump that anyone can share? I'm curious to know what others thought of this one specifically. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Type 1 Carbs in Alcohol and Correction Doses.

Thank you so so much for this, I'll bear all that in mind and I'll check my bloods regularly. I'll just have to see over time what works for me. And thank you for the birthday wishes! [emoji4]

Type 1 Carbs in Alcohol and Correction Doses.

Hi everyone, So I turn 18 tomorrow, which is legal drinking age in the UK. I'm going on a night out, and there's going to be lots of carby drinks (it'll probably be a messy one). I was wondering at what point do I give a correction dose? I already spoke to my diabetes team when I was diagnosed...

What was your bg reading last night and this morning?

7.1 just before bed. 5.1 before breakfast. (That's pretty good for me as I almost always wake up on a 4.0 and am hypo in the night).

    "OK" blood sugar confusion

Hi, Type 1 here. I'm pretty sure that the ranges for both types of diabetes are similar, though there may be a bit of wiggle room either way. However, 15 is definitely not a good range border. I was told that anything over 10 is high, and anything higher than 14 is getting to concerning levels...

Type 1 Unexplained high BG readings

I'll definitely contact my team on Monday to see if they recommend changing any ratios or Levemir doses. And yes, I do carb count for every meal (unless I'm eating out with no available nutritional info, then it's a huge guess based on past meals), and I rarely ever change what I eat for...

Type 1 Unexplained high BG readings

It's truly a pot luck whether I go dramatically down or not. The other day I was on a 13.9 after breakfast, went on a short walk, and dropped straight down to a 4.1 within an hour. But most of the time my Novorapid has been perfectly fine.

Type 1 Unexplained high BG readings

No such thing as an indelicate question in my books with this stuff, it's all medical after all. And in all honesty, I have no clue. I was on depo provera (the injection) for 9 months last year, and since starting that I haven't had any monthlys, even after finishing using it and swapping to...

Type 1 Unexplained high BG readings

I don't ever solely rely on my Libre, as I do get readings as inaccurate as up to 2mol away from my bloods, but most of the time it's pretty much spot on. So yeah, I use blood checks alongside my Libre. As for food, I'm pretty plain. I eat more or less the same type of thing for most meals, and...

Type 1 Unexplained high BG readings

Hi! @ert Yeah I have a diabetes team, but they're only directly available over the phone Monday-Friday. Otherwise it's just the paediatric ward, and they never quite seem to know what to do with these specifics. I do use my Libre a lot, but if there's a concerning reading I always check my...

Type 1 Unexplained high BG readings

Hi all, I hope some of you can clear this up for me. I was diagnosed 4 months ago with Type 1 diabetes and I'm using Novorapid and Levemir. Typically, I have severely suffered with hypos since, to the point that I am now hypo unaware up to a reading of about 3.0. But, for the last 5 ish days...
