Hi all.
I'm getting a Medtronic 640G on Tuesday and it's my first ever insulin pump as I was diagnosed in March.
Any advice or experiences with this pump that anyone can share? I'm curious to know what others thought of this one specifically.
Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hello @Eylise I use the 640g and think it’s a great pump, choose your cannula set carefully though, I started on the mio sets but had issues with inserting them and rashes from the set itself as it’s plastic, I then switched to the sure t sets which are manually inserted and they have been excellent.

Pumps are brilliant for tiny adjustments so tweaking your ratios and micro managing your control is good, also for turning your basal down for exercise. Have had a couple of cracked pumps which have been replaced within 1 day so keeping a backup of pens is vital. I keep mine in a pump belt 24/7 and that’s been great for me.

Good luck and let us know how you get on ?

Thank you so much! I'll keep you updated on how I get on, overall I'm really excited but I'm plenty prepared for some issues early on.

Fantastic pump. My daughter had one, we were really happy with it. She had a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) and the low suspend feature on the pump was fantastic.

Hello @Eylise I started using the 640G in February after 48 years on MDI. I use the Mio in fusion set and havent had a problem with them so far. Took a while to get it set up but well worth the effort. My last A1C was the lowest in 30 odd years :)
