Two lovely daughters, two lovely grandsons, two lovely sons-in-law/partners, all of us well-travelled.
Feel very lucky to have been diagnosed at all (nearly didn't make it back in 1970), and am delighted to have gained from advances in research and treatment since then. I'm keenly aware, however, of how little is understood by non-diabetics of the ways Type 1 affects day-to-day life.
I'm also keenly aware, through personal experience, of the extent to which every person with diabetes is dependent upon their own understanding of it and the varied skills of the teams who 'manage' treatments: I've encountered the excellent and the execrable!
