low carb, keto, medium carb, weight loss clubs....sigh...

Dear Brambleberry, medical research has found that the weight your mother had while pregnant with you had an impact on your weight as an adult, across cultures and societies. And yes, there are lot of additional factors, including the food industry and the food pyramid, the subsidizing of...

    Low carb daily diets.

There are many more cook books on low carb diets than on Keto diets, at least in the vegan aisle: e.g. "Vegan Keto", "Keto Junk Food". What is posted here is fairly typical of low carb/keto dieters: loads of animal meat. Perhaps because this is the easiest to procure and is promoted as healthy...

    Dark Chocolate

I make chocolate myself by buying 100% cacao chocolate (Whole Foods carries one or two brands who have 100%, like that Spanish brand that offers 100%Peruvian chocolate), melting it down with pure cocoa butter, adding an acceptable sweetener to it. Instead of 100% cacao chocolate, I also use...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I have been there. When I look at the photos of the meals consumed posted here, I get hungry. Seriously. I went on low carb diets now and then, including the Atkins diet, which worked extremely well for weight loss. But then, I became vegan, partially because I was no longer able to eat diary...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

For several months I went onto a strict keto diet, the vegan way. I did lose weight, it was lovely. I ate loads of nuts, one or two low carb protein bar per day, and that was it. I did not miss any other food groups, but I got lucky because my days were filled with exiting activities and lots of...
