I haven't been able to swallow metformin for 3 years, so now being offered canagliflozin. Hoping I don't get side effects as already on insulin and hate having too many meds already.

Is the oral form available on the NHS?

Diagnosed 12 years ago T2. Was on Metformin 500mg, then insulin 5 years ago and 1000mg. Last 2 years, cannot swallow the metformin. Seems like a lead weight, often feels stuck at the back of my throat. Others laugh as I retch trying to get the blasted thing down. Insulin is a doddle now compared...
