    Has anyone tried this breakfast?

I don’t see myself eating it but I don’t agree the carb count is too much - it would mix nicely with Greek yogurt for a breakfast

    Type 2 Resistant Starch

Interesting article - thanks. I’m certainly not doing more than 20 gms a day at the moment. I’m due my full bloods mid Jan and that will show how liver etc is but so far I am losing weight still and stab test BG is improving. But anyway thanks for the post - very interesting

    Has anyone tried this breakfast?

A normal portion would only be about 35 grams so carbs per portion roughly 15gm - also need to consider amount of fibre and GI rating .....

    Carbohydrate intake

I’d rely on your Ac1 measures over snap shot stab tests. All people suffer blood sugar spikes - it’s a healthy long term average I believe is important. I think you will see further improvement if you do plenty of exercise. Good luck

    Type 2 Resistant Starch

Hi Thanks for the response. I have considered kefir and it is on my to try list. My sister uses kefir and says it is good but she is not t2d. It’s early days on RS for me and I wouldn’t dare try the cook cool method as am on low carb diet - save for The potato starch which passes through. Rgds

    Type 2 Resistant Starch

Thanks - looks an interesting article. Bobs starch is very expensive in the uk as it is a USA export and a lot of the articles I find mention the product by name as tool of choice- that worries me a little re conflict of interest. Anyway if you are in the uk holland &Barrett potato starch is...

    Type 2 Resistant Starch

Regular starch is assimilated and therefore the carbs/calories are taken on board as energy - resistant starch passes straight through to colon and only feeds gut flora.

    why eat?

This approach definitely worked for me too when I was on vlcd- only problem was eventually I became emaciated and weak. Ketosis is a superb tool but for me it cannot be sustained beyond 6 months - whilst in ketosis however every single ailment I had disappeared and many have never since...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

I too was advised by both nurses and docs not to test. Although I now have a meter I don’t necessarily disagree with them as one can become fixated on the meter and end up living by it when really a good diet and active lifestyle is most likely the best one can do to keep t2d under control. I...

    Type 2 Resistant Starch

Hi Sally RS is said to help as a prebiotic and improve gut flora. I’ve just had a serious hit of antibiotics which more than likely has killed most if not all of my good gut bacteria. The fact it passes through to the colon is good - otherwise I’d be cramming carbs (imho they are the enemy). Any...
