Sorry folks, clearly I disappeared off the forum after first posting In 2014. It’s now 2025 and have still not been genetically tested though have finally been referred. My GP didn't see the need! Hello, I have two daughters and two nieces of childbearing age.
Is there anybody here who receives a CGM on prescription but is not T1? I am currently free trialing the Libre2 and love it. I m MODY, so don't expect I'll be given a CGM on prescription.
I have been diabetic since I was 20 (32 years ago). 4 years ago I was diagnosed with neuropathy after complaining of problems with my feet. I was convinced I had pencils in my shoes! Sometimes my heels are so painful too. My situation was definitely improved through the use of alpha-lipoic acid...
I was diagnosed as T2 32 years ago but have not needed to inform DVLA, as I'm not on insulin. I do hypo but generally just get on with it. I was diagnosed with neuropathy 4 years ago but only found out recently that I need to inform DVLA about this condition. I can't understand why my GP didn't...

I was diagnosed as type 2 when I was 20. I was put on such a restricted diet that I frequently hypoed. I couldn't risk going shopping in town on my own! I was put onto Metformin in 2005 but didn't tolerate it, so was changed to Gliclazide. I have to be careful what I do, as I still hypo and have...
I have a neuropathy, apparently a complication of being a well-controlled T2 for 33 years! Sometimes my hands/fingers don't work properly. I suffer from dropsy, often especially in the mornings. I do also have osteo-arthritis, which doesn't help the situation.
I'm on Duloxetine for neuropathy. I'm almost constantly hot and clammy even in the middle of winter. Hoping to wean myself off the Duloxetine since starting to take Alpha- Lipoic Acid.
Whitbyjet I'd be very interested to know what alternative treatments you have been prescribed. I have been a well controlled type two for 31 years but was diagnosed with a neuropathy just over a year ago. I'm still under investigation, as my symptoms don't fit properly but then my diabetes has...
Would it not perhaps have been better if you had spoken to the teacher about the situation before starting to eat the cereal bar? I expect pupils to tell me if they are going to eat a cough sweet in class. I would also explain to pupils the reason I was eating in class.
The school I currently...
