    Libre 3 on prescription...

Is there anybody here who receives a CGM on prescription but is not T1? I am currently free trialing the Libre2 and love it. I m MODY, so don't expect I'll be given a CGM on prescription.

    Coconut water

I bought the innocent one from Asda today, no added sugar. I use it in my lunchtime smoothies.

    Feet Problems

I have been diabetic since I was 20 (32 years ago). 4 years ago I was diagnosed with neuropathy after complaining of problems with my feet. I was convinced I had pencils in my shoes! Sometimes my heels are so painful too. My situation was definitely improved through the use of alpha-lipoic acid...

    Diabetes and Driving

I was diagnosed as T2 32 years ago but have not needed to inform DVLA, as I'm not on insulin. I do hypo but generally just get on with it. I was diagnosed with neuropathy 4 years ago but only found out recently that I need to inform DVLA about this condition. I can't understand why my GP didn't...

    MODY

Hi folks, I was diagnosed as T2 33 years ago when I weighed less than 8 stone. I was diet controlled until my second pregnancy 7 years later but reverted to diet control immediately after delivery. I was put on to Metformin in 2005 but quickly changed to Gliclazide, as I didn't tolerate the...

    Type 2 and Hypos

I was diagnosed as type 2 when I was 20. I was put on such a restricted diet that I frequently hypoed. I couldn't risk going shopping in town on my own! I was put onto Metformin in 2005 but didn't tolerate it, so was changed to Gliclazide. I have to be careful what I do, as I still hypo and have...

    Clumsy hands

I have a neuropathy, apparently a complication of being a well-controlled T2 for 33 years! Sometimes my hands/fingers don't work properly. I suffer from dropsy, often especially in the mornings. I do also have osteo-arthritis, which doesn't help the situation.

    Night Sweats

I'm on Duloxetine for neuropathy. I'm almost constantly hot and clammy even in the middle of winter. Hoping to wean myself off the Duloxetine since starting to take Alpha- Lipoic Acid.

    How is diabetic neuropathy diagnosed

Whitbyjet I'd be very interested to know what alternative treatments you have been prescribed. I have been a well controlled type two for 31 years but was diagnosed with a neuropathy just over a year ago. I'm still under investigation, as my symptoms don't fit properly but then my diabetes has...

Teacher put my brunch bar in the bin

Would it not perhaps have been better if you had spoken to the teacher about the situation before starting to eat the cereal bar? I expect pupils to tell me if they are going to eat a cough sweet in class. I would also explain to pupils the reason I was eating in class. The school I currently...

    Neuropathic Pain

I was diagnosed a year ago despite always having good diabetic control. I have been type 2 for 30 years. I was initially prescribed Amitryptiline but struggled with tiredness. I was then put on to Duloxetine, which helped me cope with working. In August I was also prescribed Gabapentn. Things...

    Methylcobalamin

Has anyone suffering from neuropathy tried methylcobalamin? If so, can you please tell me if you felt it worked for you, where you got it and what dosage you used?

    Diabetes itchy skin

I had no idea that diabetes could cause itchy skin - hmmm. I get itchy armpits but have put it down to the monthly cycle and menopause. I often have itchy skin now but ave recently been diagnosed with a neuropathy, which I know is the cause and a complication of diabetes.
