I am the original thread poster and am prediabetic. @Severe_Needle_phobia came in to the thread further down and their signature says they are type 2.

Ah okay, thanks, I thought I was signed in but I’ll go and take a look and see if I can update details, techs not my strong point! I have introduced myself on here but it was 5 months ago so of course no one would remember, sorry! I was told I was prediabetic from a fasting blood glucose blood...

    Another Bread Thread

Hi all, I know this gets discussed quite a lot but I’ve got a question I can’t find the answer by googling. I have cut a lot of carbs but still having very small amounts of bread as I love it so hoping I can continue. I’ve been buying the soya and linseed Vogel or Burgen bread as I understood...

Coming to the end of the fast 800

Vogel also do a soya and linseed bread which is similar to the smaller Burgen loaf, I can get it in Waitrose or larger Sainsbury’s stores. Our local Tesco only do the large size Burgen which is over 120 calories per slice and though that will be fine when I’m maintaining weight I still have 18...

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Coming to report back on the Cauliflower rice - the one in the packet was horrible, in fact the kitchen smelled so bad my son was looking for something the dog might have done! This put me off for a bit but I like fresh cauliflower so decided to make my own. Blitzed it into tiny bits in the food...

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Thankyou! I found the Hilo bread in Sainsbury's and have a loaf in the freezer, tried sweet potato "rice" which I wasn't keen on, I'd rather just cook some sweet potato and freeze portions. Cauli rice is next in the list to try!

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Thank you Daisy1, that's a lot of helpful information. I have tried low carb before, (trying to improve satiety while trying to lose weight) but found it left me headachy by late afternoon. Maybe I should cut the carbs down gradually this time to give my body time to adapt as it seems this is...

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Thank you, that's really helpful. My son has a static bike that I can use and build up slowly, and we use weighted handballs in Pilates that I had thought about buying to use at home so that seems like a good starting point :)

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Thanks, that's useful to know, I wouldn't have thought about the on going cost, think I'll do a little research first!

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Oh wow those look great! Thanks for the ideas, looks like this might not be as difficult as I thought, do these keep for 24 hours in the fridge so I can pack my lunch for work the night before?

    Hello and ?Advice re Carbs

Thanks for your reply, I wasn't meaning to exercise for weight loss, it was a revelation when I found the exercise helped my back regardless of weight as it was the first time I'd understood that they were not completely connected. It was the insulin sensitivity element I was interested in and...
