Just wondering if any parents with small children with diabetes can help.
The last 2 weeks I have noticed that my 2 year old has started to drink alot ( almost finishing a cup and 5 mins later asking for more) including waking up 3/4 times a night for a drink (which she has never done before)...
At the start of the week I was feeling great now I feeling run down and weak.
My bloods have been slightly higher than normal. Normally run perfectly at around 5 now running between 7 and 9.
I reduced my lantus a few weeks ago as was having loads of hypos with the heat outside and because I work...
Hi all
Me and my soon to be wife are going on honeymoon to turkey in August and am wondering what I need to do in regard to taking my insulin with me.
I am going to see a doctor to get a doctors note explaining about it. But what about taking the vials of insulin on the flight. Can they be...
Hi
I work at different times of the day and have had the same problems as you.
I work long days and also mixes of days and evening (work as a chef). Funnily enough not always finding time to eat when I need to.
I found that having a packet of malted milk biscuits hidden close to my station...

Hi all

Been to the doctor today and got the results from my latest HB1AC test and I have managed to get it down from 68 in June 2016 (month of diagnosis) to 36 in January 2017.

How's everyone else's doing atm?
I'm looking at getting a glucomen areo monitor and just wondering if anyone uses them and would recommend them at all? Also does it test ketone?
Thanks
I have been diagnosed since June 2016 and have to say I know where you are coming from.
Have the days where I don't want to inject or test at all.
I work as a chef so have long days at work, trying to explain what's it's like to have diabetes or why I'm feeling rough etc to the guys I work with...

OK yes I see my mistake there. But It seems very strange.
All my DSN says is keep lowering your lantus to get the numbers back to 6ish and that I made a good decision in not taking the novorapid.
Just trying to get some ideas as to why.
What did you mean by 'sudden onset honeymoon period' ?
I have only dropped my lantus and am running between 5.8 and 6.1 alday so no hypos at all but I am also not taking any novorapid at all when I eat and am staying at the 5.8 to 6.1 after meals. No rise or fall regardless of what I eat
Recently I posted this:
I was ill over last weekend and since then I have been experiencing low BG readings of around 4 whereas I am normal running at a stable 6.
I have lowered my basal (lantus) from 17 units to 13 units (20% decrease) to raise it during fasting but all it does is drop...
