Steroid injection - looking for experiences/literature

Hi Antje77 I have had steroids injections into my hands on numerous occasions. The steroids had a very positive effect on the pain in my hands. Unfortunately the steroids did cause my diabetes go out of my control for about 7 days. After that things began to settle down. I am a pump user. I...

    Type 1 Libre 2 plus

Morning. I use skin tac wipes which I get from Amazon. For me they work well. Only problem is if the sensor has to be removed before the 15 days are up.

    Omnipod 5 or Ypso?

I was on dexcom 1 prior to going closed loop so I can understand where you are coming from. Your Dexcom controller is where you control everything from. You will not need your phone for your diabetes. Your blood sugar will no longer be displayed on your phone but on your controller. If it is any...

    Omnipod 5 or Ypso?

Morning pxrified I am an Omnipod 5 & Libre 2+ Closed loop user. I have been using this since Feb 2025. I previously used Omnipod Dash. My experiences have been generally positive. It does take a while to get used to letting the pump have control. It takes a while for the algorithm to get used...

    Omniopd 5 start

Unfortunately it does take time for things to settle. For me it took about a month. Make full use of your appointment. Go armed with questions. For me it was things like maintaining line of site. For me I can only use my arms. The other big issue for me is not being able to hear alarms...

    Omniopd 5 start

Hi carlos I have been using Omnipod 5 since February 2025. I can relate to your experiences. It takes the algorithm some time to learn about you and your insulin requirements. I found it difficult to let the pump take control. You may need to make some adjustments to for example to your carbs...

    pump ideas

Hi tam235 I would support what EllieM advised. Your first step needs to be finding out which pumps are available locally. I am an Omnipod 5 Libre 2+ closed loop user. I have used a pump for 6 years and would recommend it. I started on a Medtronic pump but found it difficult to do the set...

FreeStyle Libre2 readings on a Andriod Smart Watch

Hi Richard I have tried yet again. I managed to get connected, unfortunately my sensor then stopped working. I got the message searching for sensor for an hour. I have now changed the sensor and I am now back up and working. I have not tried to connect again in case I loose another sensor.

Thinking of going onto insulin pump tandem t:slim

Morning KimL I am an Omnipod 5 Closed Loop user. I use the Libre 2+ sensor. I have not been on a pump for 5/6 years. I would agree with the others it does take a quite a bit of getting used to. For me it has been well worth it and I would not want to go back to pens. I did use a Medtronic pump...

    omnipod 5

Morning richyb Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I use Libre 2+ which does not allow me to get alarms on my phone. The only way I can get Dexcom is to fund it myself. For me this is not possible. Maybe one day funding will be available. Like you the Omnipod controller works well and apart...

    go sick when starting pump?

Morning carlos When I first started on a pump I was advised to take a weeks holiday. As was no longer working I did not have to do that. I did however plan a quiet week. The main reason for this was to get the basal rate on the pump correct. I got daily phonecalls and there were lots of...
