Many thanks, now I have something to start experimenting with.

    Advice - Fasting hypothermia

Oh, thank you so much! I am really puzzled now. Why you can feel drop in temp of -0.4 Celsius while mine 2 degrees sneak unnoticed. I'll buy a new thermometer and measure my temp orally to evict measuring errors. In the meanwhile I found some meta-study that may be of interest to everybody who...

    Advice - Fasting hypothermia

Yeah, feeling cold - is not a measured temperature. I don't feel cold, but my temperature gets lower. I just wonder if someone who just feels cold have lower temp as well. Yep, I read the thread and didn't find any measurements.

    Advice - Fasting hypothermia

Thanks for your explanation. I was not suspecting any kind of damage as I feel just brilliant. Yep, this hints to that I somehow need to stimulate my brown fat cells. I tried walking yesterday, exactly when my temp went down to 34.9 approx at the usual time of dinner (which I didn't have...

    Advice - Fasting hypothermia

Thank you! It does not cause me any problems except for if I catch cold, I catch cold exactly on the prolonged fasting day. I attributed the immune system suppression to my lower temperatures maybe wrongly. I wanted to raise the temp somehow to see if colds stay.

    Advice - Fasting hypothermia

I am measuring my armpit temperature. Yes, I am pretty much sure the thermometer is OK, as I have two of them and tested both it on my wife and kids when got these to-much-off results. Both show 36.6 (armpits) on normal days.

Feeling cold at night at the end of a 36 hour fast

Hey There! A good fella shown me this thread, mine was here. Even though I don't feel cold, fasting makes me hypothermic. I just wonder if your body temperature lowers also. My only discovery is that contrast showers help to prevent me from catching colds all the time. But I am in this...

    Advice - Fasting hypothermia

Heya! For almost a year I am practicing OMAD (dinners with decent meat, eggs, raw veggies, fermented food) with 48h fasts once or twice monthly. I am enjoying such lifestyle even though my HbA1c is not decreasing and staying at 5.5% for the time. I take 1000 of metformin with my meal. Quite...

Caffeine in myself: seems to boost BG but no HbA1C influence

Many Many Thanks, I never heard of plant sterols before, I'll definitely try it. Yeah, I never thought that coffee may affect the blood test results so much! Now I learned it with my CGM. :) Looks like exercising is the only option I have now, as I cannot consider any dietary changes to my OMAD...

Caffeine in myself: seems to boost BG but no HbA1C influence

Hey All, I've just concluded my experiment of 3 months of caffeine deprivation. Indeed very often I saw that the morning spike of BG gets to normal levels noticeably faster without my coffee, in other words, the average BG is somewhat lower comparing to the period when I started my day with a...

    Triglycerides:HDL - Insulin Resistance

How much coffee do you drink? Caffeine significantly spikes my BG in mornings and keeps it up throughout all day. After giving it up (and alcohol also) my average BG significantly lowered...

Weekend alcohol increases BG by ~0.5mmol/l for the whole week

Oh, thanks for your words, I am happy that it helps and works for not only myself :) Approximately after a month of sobriety I started noticing that my mood was somewhat unstable, and something subtle suggested that it was from coffee. I stopped coffee as well, and the morning BG curve spike...

Weekend alcohol increases BG by ~0.5mmol/l for the whole week

Congrats, awesome results! My curve is almost as flat as yours now after giving up caffeine (from coffee, tea and diet coke) :)

Do others feel warm when BG is rising?

I feel warm also. It feels like I turned my face to a campfire or bbq/stove.

Weekend alcohol increases BG by ~0.5mmol/l for the whole week

Thanks for your replies. I think that "Prediabetes" is an everyday term for metabolic syndrome. As defined by Johns Hopkins: Metabolic syndrome is a condition that includes a cluster of risk factors specific for cardiovascular disease. The cluster of metabolic factors include abdominal obesity...
