Well I’m not sure what to make of it all.. but I had the call for my bloods.. 47 I’d had really low numbers prior to the steroid increase spiking so that obviously counted. From 59 to 47 on steroids seems like a miracle so I’ll stick with it

I think that’s the approach I’m going with too. Such a shame as I tried so hard to get it down in the first place. I guess I’ll have to wait and see

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. I am low carb anyway, usually 20g or less. So I don’t think there’s much to trim unless I go carnivore. The recent increase has been due to a higher steroid dose. It is worrying to find that the last couple of weeks will count for more than the last...

So little background.. I got my HbA1c down to 58 and this was a requirement for surgery. My surgery was then cancelled due to UK doctors strikes. My surgery has now been rebooked but I also take steroids. I’ve had to have a higher dose of steroids and in the past two weeks I’ve seen BG readings...

Sooo… results are in and my current HbA1c is 58 :D I know there’s a way to go but after only 8-9 weeks I feel like that’s a result and it’s low enough for surgery :)

I’m type 2 on insulin due to steroids, and although I low carb, I have to also be in a calorie deficit to keep losing weight or even stay the same. I know for some people just low carb and not monitoring calories works but not for me.

Although not type 1, I’ve been on steroids for 4 years, at varying doses. The result is always the same. Steroid in the am, with an hour BG rises, keeps rising, hits it’s highest around 12/1pm then stays there until around 3-4pm, then gradually starts to decline and numbers around 6/7 come...

5.4 this morning. Libre said I was hypo overnight but finger prick said not so I didn’t correct - glad I didn’t as I’d have woke up much higher.

This gives me some hope. Mine was 82 in April, and I’ve a blood test next week. Need to be below 68/69 for an operation. Fingers crossed!

Haven’t posted in ages as with the weather being nice all my meals have consisted of chicken or burgers with salad. So far today has been: Breakfast: one Asda cheddar sausage and a cup of tea. Lunch: strawberries and yoghurt Dinner: to be confirmed but likely lettuce wrap burgers
