    It has been a while

Its been a while since I last posted. Generally I can keep my BS between 36 and 42 without meds but its still causing eye issues. My ophthalmology dept blame my BS levels and what I eat. But I have been carb and sugar free for 18 months. I swear there are days I almost go insane with the...

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

When I read all the "helpful articles" on the web, they all seem to suggest swap x for a healthy salad. I think they just don't get it. It was also a bit tongue in cheek but some truth in it. .

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

Well since I started my strict regime I am finding I don't want breakfast. A lot of days I don't want dinner either and feel quite comfortable on just a lunch and some healthy snacks during the day. I still want to believe that I can "bank" carbs over a month and allow a meal out thats not a...

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

So, I am still going through some dips at the thought of a life of bland food but strangely the last couple of days I just haven't felt hungry and haven't eaten much. I used to feel ravenous but not any more. Still its good for me to shed some pounds. Since being diagnosed I have been strict in...

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

I think the first thing is to hit "normal" readings and then I will see from there. Then I will feel happier in testing the water with some foods. Its something I will have to get used to though, but I can't help feeling that has to be a balance.

    Snacks

Ooops to the cashews, about 10 a day but will stop that now. Sigh, hazelnuts and pistachios it is then. I'm guessing that honey roasted peanuts are out too.

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

Thats what scares me, the damage it can cause and I think that is a mechanism that will stop me from being silly.

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

Hi Dudette, thank you. As you say, many people have felt this frustration and all have my sympathy. Its nice to hear from someone else on my wavelength. I will figure this out and in a way that doesn't make me feel like its the end of the world. Its just going to take a bit of time and Im...

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

I guess I had been high for some time maybe even years, but I never felt any adverse effects of being hyper. Maybe my GI has been high for so long it doesn't register in my head as noticeable, so I wonder what would happen if I did push the boundary a little and have some carb or a sugary...

Eating Out Normally Again Is Something I Dream Of

Hello everyone As a relatively newbie to T2 I have changed my lifestyle and eating dramatically. I've put eating out on hold for 6 months until I have low BG and look stick thin (ok thinner ... much thinner). I have to share this and get this off my chest because people who don't suffer like...

Wake up my lazy 'B Cells'

Hello Today I have another thought. It is just my thought and everyone has their own opinion which i respect and I am in no way disputing or challenging anyone else's view. I was reading a lot of sites over the weekend (Michael Mosely and David Unwin to name a couple) and there is this...
