Still spiking loads after eating anything… help/advice needed

So I posted on here a few years back about spiking really high no matter what I eat and it’s still ongoing… it doesn’t seem to make any difference if it’s low carb or not. Just as an example today. Tuna sandwich on brown bread. Carbs are 20g per slice so 40g in total. 20g of protein in the...

    Spiking when eating ANYTHING!

When i told my DSN that i was struggling with spikes she told me to take the metformin. It does help a lot with my spikes and general BS when i take it so i guess i must be insulin resistant - I am also about 4 stone overweight which probably doesn't help but i find it almost impossible to lose...

    Spiking when eating ANYTHING!

Ah yes, they do. My problem is i spike even when eating low carb/keto?? So i could have a boiled egg for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch ans steak and veg for dinner and still spike ( sometimes as much as if i eaten carbs ) Hence the frustration... i have started going to the gym to but...

    Spiking when eating ANYTHING!

It happens after I eat. Even if my arrow is pointing down I still spike so it could be up to an hour or so after eating. My DSN just says to take more insulin but if i do that then i hypo after or even before sometimes.

    Spiking when eating ANYTHING!

How do you mean eating normally? It doesn't matter if I eat a cottage pie or a tuna salad I still spike... I know that insulin takes longer when its injected which is why I wait until the arrow is down on my libre. After 5 hours it would be back to normal but it shouldn't still spike so high...

I havent been very well the last few weeks ( flu/sickness bug) and as a result my bloods were running higher than normal. I kept them in check but had to almost double my Insulin requirement. Now i am better but I weighed a few days a go and I have put on over half a flipping stone!! I...

How do you record insulin/food etc..

As above. I need to try and note what insulin I take with food so that I have some sort of record to refer back to. At the moment I carb count ( which is fine ) but I need to have an easy way to save it all. I have used the MySugr app but dont find theres enough room to write down food...

    Tresiba peaks

@Indy1282 Its also the time I haul hay and feed out to my 2 horses :) I'm fine first thing in the morning but come 5pm even filling a barrow full of hay causes a hypo I can be 7mmol getting out of the car and just walking up to the field and having a chat and fuss with the horses can drop me...

    Tresiba peaks

I had this. Used to take my Tresiba in the am at 7ish and I used to go really low between 4.30 to 5.30. It was a massive pain in the bum because that's the time I do my horses after work and I would end up going very low (2.2 was the lowest) in the field with them. I spoke with my consultant...

    Am I being unreasonable

What do you mean look after his cat? Also you said that you woke up with a hypo and he was at work - did he know you had a hypo? Or was he already at work. I've had fairly bad hypos but felt fine after half hour or so, maybe a bit tired but that's all.

New to insulin injections, can you explain this confusing BG result?

I really wouldn't recommend reusing the same needle several times - once it gets blunt it will bloody hurt when you inject! Once or twice is fine though.
