UPDATE....... after a fasting blood test last week my results today are 96. Current medication is metformin SR 500mg twice a day, gliclazide 80mg 3 times a day (only increased to 3 a day about 6 weeks ago) and Alogliptin 25mg 1 a day. Doctor has now increased metformin to 500mg 4 times a day...

Sorry I meant I take 25mg of Alogliptin as well. So I have 3 diabetic tablets. He suggested I took an extra metformin but told him I get chronic diarrhoea but then I can do anyway so maybe it is a better option tha more Gliclazide. Any thoughts??

Got to see GP yesterday who isn’t actually a diabetic specialist although the other GP in the practice is!!! He has increased my Gliclazide to 200mg a day. 120g in the morning with breakfast and 80g at evening meal time plus I already take 500mg of metformim sr twice a day and I take amlopidine...

Thank you for the conversion chart which now means a reading of 16 which is higher than I’ve ever been. Normally was 9-11. Definitely speak to diabetic nurse tomorrow.

I think I’ll contact the diabetic nurse as it’s been over 6 months since she’s called me in. She will hopefully forward me to the hospital for a pancreas check.
