Anyone on the Ascend Plus trial?

I received my Ascend medication in the post on Saturday. Now I have it, I’m getting the jitters about the side effects. How bad is the nausea, does it wear off during the day? Is vomiting common? The reason I’m asking is, I have a small umbilical hernia and am a bit concerned that if I’m putting...

Anyone on the Ascend Plus trial?

Good afternoon. I wonder if you could answer a few questions? I have been chosen to take place in the trial and waiting for a response. If I am suitable, and I decide to go ahead, how does the scheme work? Are you sent the medication through the post or is it a prescription? TIA

    Levels and COVID-19 vaccination

my readings were raised for around 4 weeks after the second Pfizer jab. Anything between 7 to 9. They seem to have levelled out now. I tried to tell myself it was more than likely down to the vaccine and to not read too much into it. If they’d have carried on longer than the four weeks I would...

    Suddenly out of control

Thank you for your reply. I didn’t realise that meters would differ that much but I’ve been having a search through the forum and it seems this is quite normal.

    Suddenly out of control

My levels have been abnormally high for me over the past 3 weeks. I had my second Pfizer vaccine 3 weeks ago today. If they continue to stabilise, I’m putting it down to that. I’ve also got some strips for a new meter (GlucoRx Go) that I bought about a month ago so that I can compare the...

    Fibre

I have “porridge” every day. I found the recipe on here quite some time ago. 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut 2 tablespoons ground almonds 1 tablespoon flaxseed or linseed 1 tablespoon oats (large size, not dust) I cook it in a saucepan with some water and then when done I add some double cream...

Pfizer Vaccine and higher waking levels

I didn’t think to take it which, in hindsight, would have helped. I don’t have a Libre, just test strips. Do you find the Libre expensive? I confess I haven’t been on this sight for a long, long time. I lost grip of testing as I was comfortable with what food affected me and I got lax. I’m back...

Pfizer Vaccine and higher waking levels

Pfizer Vaccine and higher waking levels

Thank you for your reply. My levels before were anything between 4.9 and 5.9 I don’t feel that great health wise but I suffer from fibromyalgia so I’m never normally feeling that great anyway. I did have a sore arm that was uncomfortable to sleep on and a headache. I’ve only been doing a waking...

    Statins - general advice

Thank you so much for your help. I'ts much appreciated. I'll ask for full lipid when I'm next tested. I have online access to my test results, which is great. I remember when the GP's charged for a printout

    Statins - general advice

Bulkbiker these are the types of figures that confuse me :( How did you work out my Trig/HDL ratio please? Is HDL the bad cholesterol? I'm presume that if I want my Trigs tested I'll have to request that when I have my next test. My GP obviously doesn't do it automatically
