Has anyone sued for wrong diabetic diagnosis?

Thanks Fenn: I don't blame the hospital, in fact they saved my life (had diabetic coma/covid, was in ICU for 2 weeks). It was my old surgery/diabetic team for Sussex Coast I blame. I still remember the comment 'you don't look like a T2', what sort of diagnosis method is that. I think because I...

Has anyone sued for wrong diabetic diagnosis?

Long story but was in hospital and because the 'computer said' type 2, therefore. they would only administer 3 units with each meal despite me arguing that I carb count and normaly on average take 3 times that, so after nearly 3 months of not getting better, they let me control it myself...

Has anyone sued for wrong diabetic diagnosis?

Dear All, Have you taken legal action for consequences of wrong diagnosis, Type 2 when it's Type 1? If so I would appreciate any advice...

    Anyone got diabetic retinopathy

That's great news. My worry is, I was told with my readings (from hypos to hypers), even with H1bac 7.2, that I could lose my sight in a few years. My levels of extremes are due to having diabetic antibodies (attacks the insulin injected). I inject 5 to 8 times a day! Perhaps a pump may help...

What's the best time of day to take my Lantus?

I have raised this point of splitting Lantus dose with two of my diabetic nurses, who both said Lantus is not to be split into two daily doses. I checked with Sanofi (https://www.lantus.com/) and as their website says, once-daily? But as said many times, we are all different...

    Car insurance questions

I am presently looking at my licence restrictions to see what I am allowed to drive (this is my 5th 3yr licence). Trying to buy a van to convert, though could be an issue...

    Hypo treatments

I don't have a sweet tooth, but found Jelly Babies work well (I have at least two hypos a day, work quickly and not sickly)

Should all diabetics have a GADA test at first diagnosis

Sorry, perhaps I should have explained more? My point iwas to rule out Type 2, if you have diabetic antibodies then you are not not Type 2 but many of the initial symptoms are common between both 1 and 2. Seriously – to be wrongly diagnosed is lethal! Every organ is damaged in my case. I can...

Should all diabetics have a GADA test at first diagnosis

I was 45 when diagnosed as diabetic and told you are type 2 or perhaps 1.5 (LADA), both wrong as discovered after a 20 year battle with levels, until I caught COVID and was tested for everything in hospital, to be told I am Type 1. NHS acknowledge that 5% of diabetics are misdiagnosed as type 2...
