    Your potassium may come back down to normal once you are off ramipril. Perhaps you won't need to reduce dietary potassium. Foods that have a lot of potassium are bananas, blackcurrants and "lo salt".

    Non diabetics have a dawn phenomenon as well. This gives you higher blood sugar levels first thing than at other times of the day especially the afternoon when you have not had lunch. It does not appear that your blood sugar levels are anything to worry about.

    If your post meal blood sugar levels are too high, eg over 10, you probably do need to add meal insulin, especially if you have cut your carbs as much as you can.
