    Best Libre 2 Sensor Cover??

I use Tegaderm film 1624 (6cm x 7cm), which you can buy from any chemist. Although I buy a box on the internet as I know I'm going to need them and it's much cheaper.

    Freestyle Libre 2

I've just found this thread, so perhaps it's worth repeating what I said on another thread. I've been using the Libre2 since it came out, and am very impressed with it, although there is one problem that keeps repeating, which is that it keeps alarming to tell me it's lost contact with the...

    Freestyle Libre2

Thanks for the replies. So it's not just me. I can scan the sensor, but Abbotts claim that the reader will maintain contact up to 20 meters, although mine often fails when it's in my pocket. Having said that, for me, it's the best thing to have happened in 64 years as a type 1 diabetic.

    Freestyle Libre2

I've been using the Libre2 for a while now, with a reader, but it keeps telling me that it's lost contact with the sensor. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Freestyle Libre sensor unavailable

Hi Paul - You mention 'held on with tape' and I thought everyone used Tegaderm Film. I've never had any problems with the sensor falling off since I started doing so.

    Libre on the NHS

John - That's easy. The best way is to use Tegaderm (6 x 7cm). They are 30p each at my local chemist.

    Libre on the NHS

I saw my consultant last Friday and she gave me a prescription for 1 sensor, which I collected from the hospital pharmacy. I asked whether they would be available on my normal repeat prescription list and she told me they would be added automatically. So far I'm still waiting for that to happen...

Has anyone here been a diabetic for more than 40 years?

I've been taking insulin since 1957, so coming up to 62 years. On 2 injections a day I've logged about 47k and often wonder how many those who take insulin 6 times a day log up in a lifetime.

Testing with the Libre - Changes in the rules for driving

I actually did pass out while driving in 1972 and woke up in the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford. It seems I'd blocked a narrow country lane and eventually somebody got out of their car to find out why I didn't move over and allow them to pass. Believe me I'll never do it again.

Testing with the Libre - Changes in the rules for driving

Used sensibly, the Libre does everything we need. When I take a reading it tells me whether the trend is dropping or rising. We all know that the readings give the position about 10 minutes ago and as I never drive unless my reading is 7mmol or higher I can use that knowing whether it's going...

Testing with the Libre - Changes in the rules for driving

I'm sure this information must have been posted somewhere but I can't find it, so please accept my apologies for any duplication. We were asked a couple of weeks ago to write to our MP's about the delay in approving the Libre test for driving and I've now received the following from my MP...

Good news for Libre users, I think

I'm sure this information must have been posted somewhere but I can't find it, so please accept my apologies for any duplication. We were asked to write to our MP's asking about the delay in approving the Libre test for driving and I've now received the following from my MP. Assuming that what...

    Type 2 Sharps Box Disposal

I order a new one on my prescription when I need it and when I collect the prescription from the pharmacy, I hand the full one to them.

I'm fine with injecting, but not with testing??

Since blood testing was first introduced, until I started using a Libre I've always taken samples from my forearms. I never fancied using my fingers.

    Storing Insulin In This Weather

I keep my stock of insulin in the fridge, but what I'm using I just keep in a cupboard under the stairs and I've never had a problem. I've noticed that pumps are far more widely used in the US and that in the sunshine state (Florida) I've seen lots of people lying in the sun by swimming pools...
