    Ketones

Lots of sugar free fluids to flush the ketones out, keep a close eye on your BG levels, if you begin feeling unwell or your BG levels start to rise call 111. Hope all goes well

    It's been a while......

I've been diabetic for over 8 years now and I still seem to have periods where I really struggle with the fact that I'll always need 6 injections per day to keep me alive.... It sounds silly and maybe even naive, but I would just love a day off with no testing BG levels, logging readings or...

    Dr bernsteins book

Hi all :) I'm doing a low carb high fat eating plan, have read various threads on here and on the diet doctor page. Just wondering if Dr bernsteins book is worth the read / money? Seems to be very expensive when I've looked for it online

    LCHF

Well I only eat breakfast a light lunch and dinner which are all loaded with veg and I'm eating <30g of carbs per day so I'm finding that I'm waking up hungry between midnight and 1am. Figured if I had a snack of some sort before bed I might get a more settled sleep....

    LCHF

I started a low carb high fat eating regime on Monday, so far so good :) My BG levels have dropped to 5-7mmol already! Also taking less insulin which is a bonus, and will hopefully lead to some weight loss. Just looking for ideas to have as a snack? I don't want to have anything too high in...

    App for logging BG levels

Hi all :) Can anyone recommend an app that I can use to log my BG levels and insulin regime? Have had a look on the app store but there are loads! Just looking for some recommendations that'll save me carrying a log book and pen everywhere :)

    LCHF

Yes I know that, it's just a lot of people doing low carb seem to also avoid fruit to keep BG levels stable. Hence why I asked about vitamins :)

    LCHF

Fingers crossed I get similar results :) it's scary taking on something new when you're so set in your insulin regime but I'm looking forward to it

Do any of you on a low carb diet take any vitamins or supplements?

    LCHF

I normally use dextrose tabs or glucagel but I think I'll need to review how I treat a hypo as I feel that I over compensate because I've became unconscious from a hypo before, I panic if I'm low and on my own

Thanks all for the pointers :) I really appreciate it. When on a low carb eating plan, what do you use to treat a hypo? I think I over compensate, just need to stop panicking
