Hi Immis, Backing up Geordie's post, mine has definitely slowed down so it's not anything you are doing. Keep at it and good luck Ken

starting newcastle diet on 2nd jan

Morning all. Nearing the end of week 7 of the diet. Weight loss so far, down from 15'0 to 12'5", I'm 6'0 tall. Monitoring bloods twice daily, seem to be pretty stable at early 6's, for both FBS and 2 hours post prandial. I had an HAB1c at week 4 of the diet, recorded at 59, which is 7.5 in old...

Awesome Geordie! My bloods are not as good as you (had an HBa1C at week four of the diet which came up at 59 - not too bad) but total weight loss 30 lbs or so so far, finish on the 27th Feb. To be honest getting to the point where I'm considering doing it for another couple of weeks cos I'm...

starting newcastle diet on 2nd jan

Evening all, just completed week 5. Weigh in this morning, 26lbs lost so far, down from 15stones to 13'2", BMI finally in the "healthy" range. Feeling good, lots of energy though managed to pick up a cold last week, and bloods raised a little over the last few days - does anyone else get that...

Ardberg, I only weigh myself once a week, in the morning, of course. I know it's tempting to do it more often, but give yourself a chance and don't be too hard on yourself. We'll get there!

Hey Ardberg, keep at it mate - weight loss will be influenced by how much you had to lose in the first place. Good luck mate Ken

starting newcastle diet on 2nd jan

Just finished week 4, 20 lbs of weight gone so far and meds free ( I was on max dose of metformin, gliclazide and sitagliptin). BS readings are generally very good, though I note some occasional early sixes in the mornings (wondering whether it is because I have upped my black coffee intake-...

Very Low Cal Diet 800 cals ?

Sid clearly a man of experience, and I am grateful (borderline patronised!) that you are willing to share. Positivity and attitude is the key here, and clearly you had some substantial lifestyle changes to make having let yourself get 4 stone over weight. I admire your finally taking back of...

Very Low Cal Diet 800 cals ?

Sid, you're not the bearer of bad news but in my opinion, you're totally missing the point. This diet is NOT purely about weight loss. Without labouring this point, it is aimed at losing pancreatic/liver fat that can only be achieved through such a low calorific approach. I do understand that...

Very Low Cal Diet 800 cals ?

I'm now three weeks into this diet, have lost 9 kilos and my blood sugars are in the "normal" range without medication. My consultant and dietician have told me that in theory, post the 8 week period I will be able to resume a normal healthy diet. It is tough, but fortunately with the three meal...
