    High fasting level

Did you have pasta with the bolognaise? Was the sauce homemade or a ' Dolmio' type jar as sugar content could be quite high. Hidden sugars in everything and carbs to glucose too. Don't be discouraged. Its early days.:)

ACCUTANE WITH PRE-EXISTING HYPOTHYROID - could this lead to diabetes or other autoimmune conditions?

Thank you for your comments and insights so far. My daughter has tried various topical treatments including the mix up solution which I think was zineryt. The only thing that seemed to sort it was 'Dalacin T' (Is that adapalene?) but that was earlier on and she seemed to become more immune to it...

ps Forgot to say - yes she has tried oral and topical antibiotics but skin has got worse and it is starting to affect her confidence. She can cover it up with Bare Minerals make up which has good coverage and is supposed to help with zinc content and is non comedogenic. but underneath is still...

ACCUTANE WITH PRE-EXISTING HYPOTHYROID - could this lead to diabetes or other autoimmune conditions?

Cat Lady Your care for people is clear in your responses.. The GP was against the contraceptive pill route if just for acne because she didn't think the cosmetic aspect was worth the heightened risk of DVT and pulmonary embolisms. If my daughter had needed pill for contraception, she would have...

Any T1 had experience of roccutaine tablets?

How did you get on? I see this post is 2 years old but my daughter is seeing derm next week. She doesn't have diabetes but does have hypothyroidism and I wonder of she is susceptible to getting other auto immune conditions as a result of being on Roaccutane.

ACCUTANE WITH PRE-EXISTING HYPOTHYROID - could this lead to diabetes or other autoimmune conditions?

Hi there...would appreciate your thoughts.. my 19 year old daughter was diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis at age 15 and subsequently went on to have hypothyroidism - thyroxine levels are managed with daily levothyroxine medication. However, she is suffering with acne (it may or may not be...

    How often to test?

Hello, I'm a relative newbie and pre-diabetic... but as carbs turn to sugar, the starchy foods need watching too...not just obvious sugars... and I have to watch my fruit intake too.. sticking to berries rather than the more exotic ones. Someone will soon be online with the welcome info to help...

    Still early days....

I'm approaching first month of monitoring about blood sugars and LCHF following recent Prediabetes diagnosis. Looking at my fasting BG, they have averaged between 5's and 6's but this morning I witnessed my first jump through what I deduce must be dawn phenomenon. (Have just spent an hour...
