First attempts at fasting - how long to continue first extended fast?

I absolutely am! I'd considered it when I was first diagnosed but was a bit worried that not eating would have a negative effect on my levels (I experienced the dawn phenomenon early on and also high levels after excerising so was worried that these were linked to not eating enough), but after...

First attempts at fasting - how long to continue first extended fast?

Hi, I followed 5:2 for a little while prior to my T2 diagnosis. I've since been doing LCHF, but thought I'd try 5:2 again and started yesterday. I ate breakfast and nothing else for the rest of the day. I tested my fasting levels this morning and it was at 5.9!!!!! This is amazing for me, I'm...

    Running

Hi all, thanks so much for your replies. The good news seems to be that I can incorporate running into my fitness regime and not be too scared of the BG levels. Originally I started running as a low cost, inexcusable way to exercise and lose a bit of weight - i got to choose where and when...

    Running

Thanks Juicyj, do you run at any specific time? I used to be a morning runner, but am worried about morning BG levels, which are generally my highest readings of the day. It would probably be beneficial to run a couple of hours after eating, but I'm not sure that will be practical for me.

    Confused by morning readings

Good morning! Thank you so much for your replies and the advice re exercising. I just know by the way I feel this morning that it's going to be high, but it seems I'm not doing anything wrong to make it worse, or missing a trick to sort it out, What a weird condition this is!

    Confused by morning readings

No, no medication. I don't usually eat until around 8/8.30 most evenings, but generally limit dinner to meat and veg/salad.

    Confused by morning readings

Hi all, This is my first post after being diagnosed in November. I've been following LCHF since the first day of diagnosis and have just had my first follow up test where my BG levels fell from 7.3 to 6.6. I was quite happy with this and have been allowed to continue trying to reduce further...
