    HBA1c Cholesterol levels with Ezetimibe/Semaglutide

I didn't think about eating prior to testing and no these days I never fast prior to a cholesterol test. Having said that years ago when I was able to get appointments at a particular local hospital I would always have tests between 0730-0900 so before breakfast and my trigs were always bad. The...

    HBA1c Cholesterol levels with Ezetimibe/Semaglutide

Hi, I have not posted here for many years mainly due to having accepted my fate with type 2 as my GP's tend to be of very little help. But I would like peoples opinion or possible experiences with what I am about to write. This may be quite long. Quick previous history: I was on a HBA1c of...

    Statins and HBA1C levels

I know this thread is now a bit old but I thought I would add to it. I am still off of the Statins and the Amlodipine and my blood pressure according to my own meter appears to have come down and is now what it always was, anything from 125/80 to 134/85. However my diabetes control has now...

    Statins and type 1

I went on statins for three months I had difficulty going to the toilet and my hba1c jumped from 45 to 56 with no increase in my weight. I am type 2. Back off the statins and waiting to see if it improves. My spot checks appear to be improving since stopping.

    Statins and HBA1C levels

Update: Went to see my doctor last night who did not attempt to put me back on statins. Switched my BP medication and we have agreed that I will do another HBA1C test in two months time to see what the level is at. My random glucose checks so far seem to suggest that the levels are slowly coming...

    Statins and HBA1C levels

I was planning on asking them to repeat the blood tests in 3 months time so will see what they say next week.

    Statins and HBA1C levels

Hi, I do walk on average around 3/5 miles every week day and this was working, before the statins, in lowering my glucose levels, especially the after breakfast one. Not working at the moment, but again I may need the statins effect to totally clear from my system. Not sure how long that will take.

    Statins and HBA1C levels

To Dillinger: I am a man, I wonder if the doctor would have not prescribed statins if I was a woman. I received a call this morning from my surgery and they have brought my appointment forward to next week to discuss the results. So I will see what he says. I tested last night two hours after...

    Statins and HBA1C levels

Oh yes the dreaded breakfast. I learnt that the hard way. I suffer from the so called dawn Phenomenon where my levels on waking up can be high. I tried various things to bring that down, have something small to eat just before going to bed. That did not seem to work. Take some alcohol just...

    Statins and HBA1C levels

Just an update. Never got past the reception desk, am at work so can't get into a protracted argument. Apparently she will check with the doctor tomorrow (about me being diet controlled only) and give me a call back.

    Statins and HBA1C levels

Thanks for the replies. I was also certain that a figure of 53 meant medication. I am not sure what the receptionist was going on about but she was reading this from the lab result... apparently. I won't be able to check any of this until my appointment which is not until the 17th of February I...

    Statins and HBA1C levels

It was not a conversation with the doctor just him having relayed his thoughts to the receptionist and then on to me. I had asked to speak to him directly hopefully saving them an appointment slot. I was hoping that stopping the statins, which I did about two weeks ago, may have started to drop...

    Statins and HBA1C levels

IHi, I thought I would finally post here rather then just read. I will try not to make this a rant about my surgery I was diagnosed in May of 2015 with type 2 based on a HBA1C of 49 since then with the advice of this forum on purchasing a meter which I purchased in October of 2015 on the type...
